Confirmed: Gran Turismo 5 Delayed Yet Again (UPDATE)

UPDATE 2: The game’s delayed in all of Europe too, with the statement from SCEE reading as follows:

“We are sorry to say that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 3rd, but the game will be released before Christmas.

We sincerely apologise to GT fans for the delay, however creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality. We are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches later this year. We’ll have more information for you in the near future.”

UPDATE 1: Japan’s delayed also.

Original Story: It’s time we form a gang, buy some expensive Japanese plane tickets, find Polyphony Digital’s studios, and reprimand everybody who works there.

Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed yet again.

This is according to the US PS Blog, stating the game won’t release in the U.S. on November 2nd, however it’ll be available for the holidays.

The Reason? “Creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.”

Rumors have been circulating concerning another delay for a while now, but I refused to post them up since we didn’t know for sure. This confirmation must be dampening to many a racing sim’s fan, though. Not good news at all

Then again, Sony’s probably looking for a perfect release window for the game, and in the early days of November, Microsoft will be bombarding the internet and airwaves with Kinect ads. I wouldn’t want to stand in the giant’s way either.

So more patience, then. Oh, and by the way, that call to action in the first paragraph was a joke. War’s not good.

If they keep delaying, they are going to lose a customer. How much can they do in a couple of weeks? The game should be finished, so release it.

give here even two suggestions: “I wonder if they should change the name to Gran Turismo Forever?” and “When I wonder Gearbox will take over development?

    :-)

  30. nick October 15, 2010 at 8:55 am -

    it will.
its no longer up to sony when it releases, it missed its gold date.
so now they have to wait till the production companies have free time to do GT5.
see how much havok missing your date can be?
even by only 3 days, now 3 days late will be blown into 3-5 weeks late!
ill be extremely surprised if this is out in november!

    Wow, terrible!
