After the meltdown at Infinity Ward, some would think the sad occurrence would alienate gamers from the Call of Duty franchise, especially Modern Warfare titles, since the guys behind said titles are no longer there. That’s apparently not the case. In fact fans of the game have made the latest Modern Warfare 2 DLC the best selling on PSN.
“Thanks to the 1 million-plus users who helped the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package break day-one and week-one download records on PSN!” Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward’s creative strategist relayed through his twitter page.
The stimulus package saw similar results on Xbox Live, with 2.5 million in sales for the first week. May 4th was when the package arrived on PSN.
Activision is extremely pleased with the performance of the package on both services. In fact it’s been so rewarding for the publishing giant that it even helped them raise their financial outlook.
