The two main men behind the juggernaut series, Modern Warfare, will no longer work for Activsion, the publisher confirms.
All things Call of Duty will now be ran by Phillip Earl, who currently heads the Asia Pacific region of Activision Publishing.
Infinity Ward will now be led by Steve Pearce, chief technology officer and Steve Ackrich, head of production on an interim basis.
All this in an effort to get things in order, after chaos broke out this morning. Now, Activsion is in discussions with a group of partners who’ll work towards bringing the franchise to Asia, which has become one of the fastest growing regions for online multiplayer.
Apparently, Sledgehammer will work on Modern Warfare 3. That’s how things stand for now.

It says, “The Sledgehammer-helmed title will ‘extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre.’”
Action-adventure isn’t FPS, at least I don’t think so.
Shady business going on over there @ activision. From an outsiders perspective, the brains and talent at IW just got steamrolled into a military style of corporate control. Sure the publisher fronts the money for IP’s, but at this point IW can stand on it’s own two feet. I’ll be paying attention the ever sinking moral levels at IW.
Hmm… this is odd… Activision is making a big mistake! if IW was shopping around they obviously had issues with them. But to let them go and not pay any royalties for a franchise that has made them a lot of money is crazy! there’s a lot more to this I’m sure we’ll hear more soon.
Activision thinks only about the bottom line. I think this might work for the good of the two fired guys.
Create something new.
Really ridiculous publisher.
It’ll be interesting to see how Infinity proceeds without the two main minds behind it.
