GameStop Says 2.3 Million U.S. Gamers Waiting For PS4s

My goodness.

Bloomberg is reporting that GameStop has made known that over 2.3 million gamers in the U.S. are on the waiting list for PS4.

That’s according to GameStop  executives speaking in a conference call with analysts today. It’s a number not even Sony was expecting, yet one that bodes well for the industry and, more importantly, the company as a whole.

Sony sold 1 million PS4 consoles in 24hrs in the U.S. A marked increase from PS3, which only sold just under 200,000 units in its first week on sale back in 2006.

This also shows that the games industry is not on a decline as some analysts would have you believe, but rather the industry’s seeing new growth.

Tomorrow’s Xbox One’s turn, as Microsoft’s new box goes on sale in the U.S. and certain parts of Europe.
