Metal Gear website posts a survey about a Rising sequel

On the Metal Gear website, you may find a survey about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. More specifically; questions about what would you want changed in a possible sequel. A long survey, it goes very in-depth about everything in Metal Gear Rising, and obviously hints at a possible sequel, not to mention Kojima himself stated he would want to work with Platinum again. Go ahead and help the team!

    rising sucked…..

You’re being unfair; gameplay was good and fun, but damn short. The final boss and the Samuel battles were horribly unbalanced. But from there on, it crumbled: weak characters, codec was replaced with something stupid, story and last boss/the guy behind it all was equally stupid and uninspired, and it was TOO Japanese.

Yes, KojiPro and Platinum are Japanese. But take a look at MGS3′s villains, or every MGS villains, and tell me if they look like anime stereotypes in the wrong game. That’s what I told them, more or less, on the survey.

how am i being unfair if you just mentioned everything that was wrong with it? what good is a game if the gameplay is good but everything built around it is nothing more than mediocrity. an i would argue that gameplay wasn’t good at all especially coming from the former talent that created devil may cry, you press like two buttons an the only thing that takes some sort of know is parry. i treat rising as if has nothing to do with metal gear period because it doesn’t deserve too. an i can’t stand how a multitude of people praise a piss-poor developer like platinum games. sorry but i’ll respectfully disagree with you.

Yeah, unfair because you didn’t point out its only redeeming value :P I think that they just couldn’t do much “DmC style”, because of the setting and the established lore. Demons and juggling are fine in DmC, but would it fit in Rising? Nah. There’s only so much you can do with this way of play, on the MG universe. They could flesh out what they had more, not necessarily add more stuff.

To be honest, I don’t really like Platinum either. Clover days though? My avatar speaks for itself.
