Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya has dropped a bomb on the gaming world, revealing via a tweet that Bayonetta 2 will be revealed in a Japanese magazine. We’re guessing it’s Famitsu.

EA in its first quarter 12 financials unveiled some very interesting and encouraging stats. Let’s start with the giant in the room: FIFA 11 sales, including digital and mobile downloads, are closing in on 15 million units, while Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has sold over 9 million copies. But that’s not all.
Ah Vanquish, look out Gears of War, look out! This game shows nothing but hardcore promise. Video of gameplay footage just released will convince you of many things, but the most important is you must keep it on your radar.
What are you waiting for?! Hit the darn link!
The masterminds behind Bayonetta and the father of Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami, are joining forces for an action game so over the top that your brain won’t be able to process all the stuff happening on the screen. Vanquish blends the best of third person shooters with japanese robots, intense gameplay and some of the worst cheesy dialogues in recent times. Watch the first gameplay trailer of Platinum Games, Vanquish.
Vanquish is coming to shores all over the world, fast. The first person shooter is being developed by Platinum Games and directed by legendary game director Shinji Mikami, who will all know is a master at what he does.
He’s hoping to “create something that has more appeal to it than simply being a shooter in a realistic world”. It’ll also be the faster shooter anywhere.
Vanquish is a title being developed for PS3 and Xbox 360 by the same studio that made Bayonetta. As you may know, Bayonetta was first developed on the Xbox 360 and then ported to PS3, and because of that, plus other technical issues, the PS3 version of the game was less than stellar.
This time though the studio’s latest effort, vanquish, is being built on the PS3, then ported over to the Xbox 360.
And why wouldn’t they? Bayonetta was a decent success sales-wise and received excellent reviews amongst the critics. A sequel would do even better than the original, they usually do and Mike Hayes, Sega’s President has said to CVG, that the company is dead set on a sequel.
The title which was the recipient of much hype has now past the 1 million mark, this according to the game’s publisher Sega, making it the the firm’s second most popular title in nine months ending December 31st. Not to shabby.
Ah yes, recently our thirst was quenched by the release trailer of Platinum Games new effort: vanquish. In that piece we said there was no information concerning what platform (s) the game would be released on and when. That’s no longer the case because according to internal Sega documents leaked on the internet, PS3 is surely getting the title.
