Michael Fassbender, who played Magneto in X-Men: First Class and David in Prometheus will be the star of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie.
“Michael Fassbender was our first choice to play the franchise’s iconic hooded hero,” Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures told Variety in an interview. “Michael is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor.”
Fassbender, who will also co-produce the film, recently had roles in Haywire and Shame. The report also notes that Ubisoft plan on developing the film internally, but will use Sony’s distribution channels.
