Microsoft has proudly announced that Xbox 360 sold a mammoth 960,000 units during the Black Friday holiday week, making it the “biggest sales week in the history of Xbox.”
The console moved 800 units during the Black Friday 24hr period, while Kinect managed 750,000 units. “We have seen tremendous excitement from customers for our hot holiday gaming offers,” said Chris Homeister, SVP and GM of Home Entertainment at Best Buy via press release, adding: “Xbox 360 was among the best-sellers at Best Buy this Black Friday, and is a testament to the continued popularity of the gaming category this holiday.”
Nintendo announced that it sold 500,000 Wii consoles during the same period, and although Sony said the Black Friday weekend saw increased PS3 sales, the firm’s yet to give an exact number.
