Original Crysis Gets Official Console Release Date

Crysis 1 was announced for consoles recently, but EA failed to give us a release date then. The publisher’s done so now.

It’ll go on sale on Xbox Live and PSN October 4th, and will set you back $19.99. A bad release date I reckon, as RAGE will be out the very same day.

Here’s the press release:

“The award-winning single-player campaign from the original Crisis is getting a makeover for its release on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. The original release wowed players and critics alike with its mind-blowing visuals and deep sandbox gameplay. Now Crysis is poised to set a new benchmark for downloadable games with its all-new lighting, effects and other visual optimizationscourtesy of Crytek’s advanced CryENGINE3. But that’s not all — shooter fans everywhere will be treated to an updated gameplay experience with optimized Nanosuit controls, refined combat, and full stereoscopic 3D support.

The action of your campaign unfolds on a tropical island in the South China Sea in the year 2019. A team of US scientists makes a frightening discovery on the island, but the North Korean Government quickly seals off the area and contact with the team is lost. As tensions between North Korea and the United States rise, a massive alien ship reveals itself in the middle of the island. As a member of an elite Delta Force team, you must use your customizable Nanosuit to fight epic battles against the alien menace through stunning, photorealistic jungles and frozen landscapes.

Crysis will be available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace and on the PlayStation Network on October 4 for just $19.99 or 1600 Microsoft Points.
