Since Sony blatantly confirmed that it was already working on PS4, gamers have been sharing their opinions on what it would be like, and whether we’re ready for it. But in a rather uncanny move, a Sony representative’s come and to contend the talk, claiming there’s no PS4 in the works, and that NGP is actually Sony’s future platform.
“For the home equipment the PS3 still has a product life,” said Sony’s Masaru Kato who hinted that development work for the PS4 was currently underway”.
He added: “It is no longer thinkable to have a huge initial financial investment like that of the PS3.”
“But this is a platform business, so for the future platform – when we’ll be introducing what product, I cannot discuss – but our development work is already under way, so the costs are incurred there.”
All this sounds like a confirmation that PS4′s under development, wouldn’t you say?
Well a Sony spokesperson’s told Ripten that the “future platform” talk meant the NGP, which will see full reveal at E3. Yet he/she might just be bluffing so gamers will still buy the PS3, because we’re well past four years into the console’s life, and that’s when new consoles are usually unveiled.
