Ah, the good ole times when honesty was the rule of the day. Will we ever see that attitude return? No. Plain and simple. What you should expect, though, is the occasional admittance by a competing group that what the competition brings to the table is good stuff.
In Treyarch’s Josh Olin’s case, his admittance was “Battlefield 3 is visually stunning.”
That’s what he said at PAX East while speaking to HipHopGamer, before he added their engine own engine could be upgraded that Frosbite 2′s level.
“It’s visually stunning,” he said.
Adding: “Irrespective of what anybody else does we always need to be elevating that quality bar – we need to be ratcheting the bar up. So our engine is very very light weight, versatile – and it’s something that our team is really experienced with.
And so the engine’s really good, it’s a very powerful engine and we could layer in an update those things if we wanted to. Like World At War we really blew out the fire technology.”
Olin also said that they’re working on releasing more DLC for Black Ops following the successful release of the first batch dubbed First Strike.
