Many seem to forget that Sony, owner of the world popular PlayStation brand is involved in more than just the gaming industry. There are many different branches within the giant’s walls.

From HDTVs to Batteries to cellphones and everything in between, name any electronic and you’d be hard-pressed not to find the company from the land of the rising sun products in the mix.

And so Peter Dille, SCEA’s marketing chief at the MI6 Marketing Conference, wanted that point to resonate in everyone’s mind.

“We’re very proud of our gaming heritage. But we don’t see ourselves as just a gaming company,” Dille said.

He concluded: “For us, the living room is not a physical space. It’s a seamless and personalized entertainment experience without walls. It’s the ability to deliver information and entertainment value to consumers where and when they want it.”
