Starting on April 1st, Sony will reorganize. Sony Computer Entertainment boss, Kaz Hirai will head a new business group that’ll bring together Sony’s personal computers and mobile electronics divisions.
What’s all this about? Well the wholly owned Sony subsidiary will now be centered around networked devices which will be known as SNE Platform or SNEP, Sony stated in an official release.
Both Sony Computer Entertainment US and EU will retain their current titles SCEA and SCEE, SNEP does not change the aforementioned.
Then on April 1st, SNEP’s console business will do a 360 turn right back to Sony Computer Entertainment. All this in an effort to realize a goal the giant set for itself to create an all in one online service out of the PlayStation network that binds together the service with hardware products.
