
Sony continues to evolve and further their research towards 3-D technology.Together with CBS, Sony has unveiled the Sony 3D Experience, showing the seriousness of 3D for the future of home entertainment.
The research center aims to be an educational experience not only for consumers, but Sony themselves who will get feedback from visitors.
Sony is promoting 3D not only in cinemas and home theaters, but also with BluRay, and yes, the PS3.
Describing it as a “reality” Sony is expecting “more 3D content and delivery options to emerge” within the near future. It seems that Sony is juggling both 3-D and motion control for their gaming fanbase, and both these technologies seem promising to go hand in hand with each other.
Sony further enforced their dedication to the research by ensuring that “Just as Sony and CBS led the way to establishing some of the most compelling HD programming for consumers, the time is right for a dedicated resource devoted to studying 3D in all its forms” (Mike Fasulo, Sony Electronics executive vice president and chief marketing officer)
Calling Sony “distinguished”and the “leading innovator” David Poltrack, Chief Research Officer and President of CBS Vision claims that this new Research Center allows “hands-on access to the most cutting-edge home entertainment technology available and while doing so, offer content and technology providers continuous user-feedback and research”
