You’ve been thinking hard on whether you should take hard earned cash and purchase a PS3. You wonder is it the right time, or should you invest in another console, after all times are hard and your decision must be one that gives the most bang for your buck. We agree fully and that’s why beyond a shadow of a doubt your money should go towards a brand new slick and slim PS3.
Sony has been hitting all the right cords lately, and just like a master chef knows how to bring all the right ingredients together to prepare a delicious meal, the giant has made ready many features, software and peripherals that makes the PS3 your best choice this year. We have five strong reasons why:
Qriocity:

Sony can’t get no rest. Night and day the hardware giant has been thinking on ways to make its online service, PSN a better place to be than the other services available.
A few weeks back, the company filed a trademark for some sort of service it’d be offering dubbed “Qriocityâ€. Many thought it was a new PSP service similar to Quore, however it seems Sony’s latest effort is something completely new.
According to our affiliate PSLS, Qriocity is an upcoming video-on-demand service offered through multiple Sony products such as Bravia TVs and the upcoming Blu-ray player the BDP-S370. After testing your internet connection, the service gives you a bandwidth optimized version of the movie you want to stream.
The talk at CES is that the service will come loaded with countless content and numerous features at launch, with February being the planned month when the service becomes available to the public.
The service also uses the PSN ID system to sign in, with each Blu-ray player or HDTV allowing multiple accounts for different levels of access to different age groups.
Qriocity looks interesting indeed, and what Sony’s promising with its new service will be the first of its kind, and a reason you should buy yourself a PS3 this year.
Wand Controller:

Recently the buzz has been circulating around Microsoft’s motion controller dubbed Project Natal, but what most people fail to take into account is the fact that Sony’s motion controller will be on the market well before Microsoft’s, therefore the hardware giant has a chance to lead the way and who knows? Grab most of what is remaining in that market which would intern cramp Natal’s hype.
The giant it has made ready loads of games alongside the motion device, from sports games, family games and even first person shooters. It’s definitely exciting and very intriguing to see how all of this will play out. The Wand’s out in spring and it’s another reason you should buy a PS3 this year.
3D Gaming:
Ah, we’ve said before: 3D gaming will soon dominate the industry and without a doubt, Sony is leading the way. A spokesman for the company said, “out of the box with PS3, you don’t have to do anything. It’s gonna take just a simple firmware update which most people do regularly anyway, and that’s all it’s gonna take to accolade the PS3 to 3D gaming. It’s just a simple firmware update on the hardware.
“You will, however, have to have a 3D TV and the glasses to get the full experience and Blu-ray movies in 3D will require a second firmware update, which will be required at the end of the year.†We won’t add anything to what John Koller, Head of PlayStation marketing said. only this: you’ll definitely want 3D on your PS3.
Exclusives:

This one is a no-brainer, the sheer amount of games exclusive to the PS3 that are coming this year is truly ridiculous: God of War III, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, MAG, and White Knight Chronicles just to name are few, are some of best games you’ll play all year, and they are on the PS3. Yet another reason to get that black box.
Price Cut:

The aforementioned features, software and peripherals are all great reasons to buy a PS3, but probably the most important of them all is a price cut, and if you have the patience to wait, then according to Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter, you might just pay a cheaper price for that PS3 come summer.
And there it is, five reasons you must purchase a PS3 this year. Go out and give yourself a treat will ya?

Nice article
Yeah, very nice read!
Under exclusive games you missed Yakuza 3 and The Last Guardian. Also, the PS3 is the only console offering the REAL version of Final Fantasy XIII (360 version has heavily compressed audio and video and is spread over 700 DVD’s).
I’ll give it ago.
Also, I’d like to talk about the wand.
People don’t seem to realize how much more accurate it is than Natal or the wii, or how much easier it’s going to be with it’s tactile control. And on top of that, it’s application to hardcore titles like shooters, or the examples they showed, a sword fighting/bow slinging game.
I think it shows much more promise than natal.
