In The UK, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Is King

by Ernice Gilbert on March 8th, 2010, under Dice, EA

This past week Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s server crashed; was it the result of the overwhelming retail success the game has been enjoying? No one knows for sure but there’s one truth that holds true: in the UK, for now, BBC2 rule the charts.

According to Chart-Track all formats chart, the shooter developed by Dice and published by EA, outsold its predecessor 3-1 in its launch week.

Chart-Track says Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the “best ever launch for any game released this early in the year.” 53 percent of those who purchased the game were Xbox 360 owners, followed by 31 percent and 16 percent for PS3 and PC respectively. (BBC2 also topped the 3 individual charts).

Last week’s top game, Heavy Rain, slipped to fourth place, while Just Dance is persistent week after week fighting for the top spot. Alien vs Predator is now third. The full quencher’s after the jump.
