Games Thirst – Amazing Life
Engadget’s reviewed in full Sony’s next generation portable dubbed PlayStation Vita, and apart from telling its viewers that the new machine should be their “first gadget buy of 2012″, the site praised the console, calling it a beast, adding that once the casual market can render games as beautiful as Uncharted: Golden Abyss, and make them available for $5, then PS Vita will be in trouble. In the meantime, though, there’s still room for this type of portable power for those looking for a deeper handheld experience.
“The Vita is a beast. The first-string gaming selection really gives us a scale of portable gaming not seen before, while the ability to dip in and out remains effortless. For extended play, the OLED screen is sharp and comfortable on the eyes, although we worry how long it’ll last unblemished in the rough-and-tumble of everyday use. The controls, too, soon felt familiar to these gaming paws. The additional analog stick now makes the device a close substitute for the PS3′s DualShock,” said Engadget in its review.
The only roadblock Engadget saw for some was PS Vita’s price and the battery life, which manages about 3hrs of playtime, and recharges in about an hour and a half.
In the end, the site scored the console a must buy, and we know Sony must be pleased.
