The Reasons Why Joseph Garrett Is The Best Videogames Commentator Anywhere

You know talent the moment you see it. Whether it’s Jamaican runner Usain Bolt, basketball player Lebron James, Uncharted writer Amy Hennig, or world class rapper Eminem. When there’s exceptional talent, you take notice immediately, and when it comes to videogames commentating, no one, I repeat, no one does it better than our very own Joseph Garrett. Watch him closely.

Gamesthirst editor Joshua Tompkins first introduced my to Joseph, who would eventually become our Chief Video Editor, and from the moment I saw his first video, Homefront Multiplayer Review, I knew we’ve found someone exceptional. From there, Joseph went on to become an indelible part of the site’s overall package.

Yet that’s just the beginning. It was not until I’d given him the go-ahead to commence a Halo: Reach tournament he’d been planning for a long time, that I realized Joseph was a class above the best. Not only does he commentate with excitement, Joseph manages to do everything on the go, with no script, no prior warning of what’s to take place, and yet he does it seamlessly. A natural talent.

It’s also not surprising that he worked at his college’s student radio show for a year and a half, but decided to quit when he realized it would take up too much time from his final year.

The Halo: Reach tournaments shouldn’t be missed by any of gamesthirst’s users, because even if you haven’t played the Halo games, you’ll love the personality Joseph brings to each and every competition. Check out the latest here, and see all over here. You’ll surely be entertained, and will keep going back for more. I do.

But the video reviews and Halo: Reach Championship isn’t the guy’s full. On the contrary, Joseph has done First Looks, Top Tens, Top Fives just to name a few, and have created content that’s been widely viewed all over the internet, including his Ten Rules For Surviving The Section 8: Prejudice Multiplayer, a piece that was featured on the front page of Reddit, has has been used as one of the top ways to master the game’s multiplayer all over the internet. On Wednesday, Joseph will introduce yet another Gamesthirst original dubbed “Is It Worth It”. Yes indeed, Joseph Garret is already a legend.

Yet the reason I’m writing this piece today is not only to give credit where credit is due, but also to honor our own. So many times we work hard day in and day out without anyone to say job well done, but that won’t be the case here. Joseph Garrett’s future is bright, he will be a well-known media person, whether it be with us here on Gamesthirst, or some other form of media. I see him as a millionaire in the near future, using his God-given gifts to bring entertainment to the masses.

He’s also a very nice person. Friendly, hardworking and dedicated. Born and bred in England, Joseph is studying TV and Video Production at the Solent University in Southampton, and is only 20yrs old. Bet you thought he was older.

Cheers, Mr. Garrett, thanks for being part of Gamesthirst!
