Own both PS3 and 360? Wondering which console to buy El Shaddai for? So what would you do if we told you the PS3 version was better than the 360? Well it is, according to the game’s developer, Ignition.
“I always tell people that ‘by far, the lead SKU is PlayStation 3,’” Ignition’s Shane Bettenhausen told the US PS Blog.
“It is a Japanese game, and in Japan, PlayStation is just so much more relevant than Xbox. It’s sold more than 10 times as many copies on PS3.”
Apparently, the PS3 version of El Shaddai runs at a constant 60 fps on the PS3 and “the controls just feel better”.
“We definitely wanted to keep the Japanese voices in because, in Japan, the actors they use are famous anime guys. But I will say that the English voices are the best dub we’ve had yet, and Lucifel, who’s probably the character with the most lines, is voiced by Jason Isaacs from Harry Potter,” Battenhausen continued.
“We definitely would like to do future El Shaddai brand extensions, and I would love of course to work with all the guys from the original game on those, but right now… nothing new to announce on El Shaddai. But we’d definitely love to bring all those guys back.”
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron will release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by means of digital distribution, with a US release coming July 26th and European on September 9th. A demo’s on PSN and Xbox Live. I tried it and loved it. Will buy immediately upon release.
