Homefront Is Most Pre-ordered Game In THQ’s History

by Ernice Gilbert on March 3rd, 2011, under Hot, Kaos Studios, News, THQ

While the future of Kaos Studios is in doubt, the game it’s developing right now has become THQ’s most pre-ordered title in company history.

Over 200,000 gamers have secured their copies, and that’s in the U.S. alone.

Still, talk of Kaos Studios disbanding and joining THQ’s new Montreal studio persists, but the publisher’s core games boss Danny Bilson has hinted at Homefront sales being the main determining factor.

“I really have tremendous respect for them,” Bilson told Eurogamer.

“I tell them the more successful a game is, the better the economics are for the franchise, and that will help to influence what we do. So we haven’t made any decisions at the moment. That’s the truth. We’re going to look at how it goes. We don’t want to relocate people just to relocate people.

A lot of it has to do with how successful it is and how strong that core team comes out on the other side,” he added. “I love those guys. I’ve worked very closely with them on this game for years. There’s nothing disrespectful going on at all. We’re trying to do what’s best for everyone.”

Homefront will go on sale on 15th of March in the U.S. and on the 18th of the same month in most of Europe.
