After Activision fired former Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella, over 25 people defected. That’s good portion of the studio’s great talent, who left to join their bosses at the newly formed studio: Respawn Entertainment.
So what’s left of Infinity Ward, the developer that made Call of Duty what it is today? Are they dead? No says Kotick, Activision boss, the studio will rise again.
“We’re in the video game business. If we can’t replace twenty-five people, that would say something pretty disappointing about us as a company,” Kotick told Joystiq in a recent interview.
“There’s at least 60 or 70, super-talented, amazingly capable people who are there. They shouldn’t have to suffer for the bad actions of a couple of guys.
They have a great culture; they’re really good independent thinkers; incredible technology base. They can get support like they did from Treyarch, from Demonware and other places.”
As for Treyrach being viewed as the “B-developer” by fans, Kotick said it’s just unfair, adding the developer contributed “significantly to the multiplayer technology that’s in Modern Warfare 2 and they didn’t really get the credit for that.”
Hopefully Call of Duty: Black Ops disproves that notion forever, because in my opinion, that game kills Modern Warfare 2.
Easily.

not dead, but slowly bleeding out like a wounded deer after stepping on a landmine.
antivision has killed IW, all there talent is gone, and whoever remains is probably too scared to say boo!
they can hire whoever they want for that studio, it will never regain the confidence it had before the whole debacle took place.
cant wait to see what respawn entertainment come up with!
same with insomniac and bungie.
“not dead, but slowly bleeding out like a wounded deer after stepping on a landmine.” This sums it right there.
