Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Is Natal Enabled

by Fernando on April 14th, 2010, under Rumor, Ubisoft, Xbox 360

According to french video games website Jeuxvideo, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be playable using Project Natal. The first person shooter from Ubisoft is supposed to have a special game mode that will allow movement recognition, controller aim mixed with hand gestures to control the interface and the ability to give commands by wrist directed movements.

Translated quote:

“As we know, Ubisoft will be one of the most active publishers during the launch of Project Natal, the motion recognition device to Microsoft. If it was not until the heyday of E3 2010 before the Redmond company will launch an armada on its accessory called “revolutionary,” we are now able to disclose proprietary information on a operator of the first games Natal.

According to our sources, the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier would be compatible with the device. A special game mode would therefore benefit from the recognition of movements, the aim being to keep the joystick in one hand and interact with the interface with your other paw. It is even possible to give orders through different types of movements directed by the wrist. You can imagine … and we share your sentiment. ”

Ghost Recon is a third person shooter. Some elements are in first person, but the main gameplay is third person.

nice to see some hardcore games taking advantage of motion tech.
natals price will determine if it succeeds or fails, well that and if it can live up to the hype.
M$ have mad allot of promises, and well there not exactly known for living up to them.
thats what worries me, M$ are not known for pricing accessories fairly.
i mean if a 120GB HDD costs me 180 AUD i dont want to even think about what natal would cost me.
hopefully M$ breaks their trend of ripping customers off and prices natal fairly.
but i wont hold my breath!

You Nick? Motion Controls? I’m surprised!

    ha, why?
im open to anything new, and when you think about it used properly and if there as accurate as sony and M$ would have us believe they could enhance gaming to a new level.
shooters for example the analogue sticks on both controllers are really sensitive and because of that it makes it really hard to pull of sniper shots at a moving target from a distance.
the targets just a smidgen to the right, so you tap the stick ever so gently and now hes a smidgen to the left.
motion controls are much more accurate and can make that slight adjustment sticks cant, so in that seance it would make pulling off head shots over a large distance much easier.
it has its places, but one thing i really dont want is it like wii games where your constantly waving your arms around.
i work really long hours, by the time i get home, have diner, have a shower, do my tafe work its after 10.
so the last thing i want to be doing is waving my arms around like a escaped mental patient.
its certainly got its place, but they have to be very careful where they use it, and make it a option.
if they start making games forcing you to use the motion controllers than thats really going to piss allot of people off.

Good points Nick, I don’t know, just thought you weren’t that type of guy. You know… jumping around the house trying to shoot stuff… Just not nick-like : )

      But I’m obviously wrong.
