Laughter Thirst: Kevin Butler’s First Playstation Ad (Not Rumor Monger)

by TimeEffect on March 18th, 2010, under Sony

The voice and face of all that is funny in public relations, Kevin Butler has been the poster-boy for Sony’s crusade to return to its Playstation roots. Full of the comedic edge and wit that he is known for, the big question has been where Butler has been all of Sony’s life. He certainly would have been a positive influence with the original PS3 launch campaign.

Though he became popular through the PS3 $299 ad, many of you would be surprised to know that Kevin Butler (real name Jerry Lambert) had first made his Playstation debut with an MBL 09 commercial entitled “Dustin vs. Playstation”. Though relatively unpopular and not as witty as he is now known for this marked the beginning of The Butler Era. We can only assume Lambert impressed with his finesse and are grateful for having him entertain our living rooms with some of the best gaming ads ever seen.

Run past the break.
