Dice Doesn’t “Ever Want To Charge For Maps”, Says Producer

While Modern Warfare 2 owners are paying some serious cash for the game’s latest DLC, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 producer has said if he had his way, DICE would “never” charge for Maps.

“We don’t ever want to charge for our maps and insisted to EA that this attitude was crucial when it came to keeping our community happy and playing together,” Battlefield: Bad Company 2 producer Patrick Bach told Xbox World 360 Magazine (Via CVG).

According to Bach, there’s “generous” amounts of DLC planned for the game.

Upon hearing the good news, Joystiq contacted the developer and a rep said, “unless they aren’t standard maps we won’t charge and there aren’t any in the plan that would cost.”

EA, owner of DICE also added its two cents:

“We can’t comment on the future. But we’ll have more details on our DLC plans shortly.”

Generous doesn’t sound too bad at all. The last I heard, MW2 gamers were flocking to BBC2 – so bring on the free stuff.
