9 Year Old Murdered Over Tony Hawk Ride

by Colton West on January 3rd, 2010, under Articles

It pains me emotionally to even be the one writing about this news story to be honest. A new year brings new tragedies and 2010 is already no exception and we’ve only been in 2010 for 3 days. Alejandro Morales 25, has been charged with the murder of 9 year old Anthony Maldonado.

As the story appears to go, little Anthony had received a PS3 for Christmas with Tony Hawk’s Ride. When a couple of relatives went out to grab snacks at around 3 in the morning, police believe an argument over the game broke out due to there being signs of a struggle. Anthony had multiple bruises and stab wounds throughout his body and managed to make it as far as his uncle’s doorway before collapsing.

Anthony was rushed to St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital where he passed away within the hour. Morales was quickly apprehended by police as they shut the power to the elevators down to search for a murder weapon. A child is defenseless and it takes something evil to hurt someone so innocent. Morales is a fine example of what evil truly is.

I think I speak on behalf of all the staff of Games Thirst when I say our condolences go out to the Maldonado family and may little Anthony rest in peace.

I truly hated writing this story..R.I.P. Anthony. All of us gamers should stand together and make sure this scumbag gets what he truly deserves. I think a life sentence is too generous..

Whoa, that’s messed up. Killing over a match in a video game? Kid must have been to good for him, but at 25 you can’t be losing your mind along with the game… especially not with a 9 year old.
