LA Noire Becomes Fastest Selling New IP In The UK

Rockstar does not know how to release a bad game it seems, as Team Bondi-developed L.A. Noire not only topped the UK Charts, but in the process became the fastest selling new IP ever.

That’s no small accomplishment.

The game debuted better than Rockstar’s last game, Red Dead Redemption, with 58 percent of sales coming from Xbox 360 and 42 percent from PS3.

In the UK, it’s now the thirteenth fastest-selling title for 360 and the eleventh fastest-selling game for PS3.

Meanwhile, Brink moved down to third being topped also by Lego: Pirates Of The Caribbean, and we see Crysis 2 trying to make a last dash, as sales for the game’s declined immensely across platforms.

Here’s the full quencher:

1. LA Noire (Rockstar)
2. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (Disney)
3. Brink (Bethesda)
4. Zumba Fitness (505 Games)
5. The Witcher 2 (Namco Bandai)
6. Crysis 2 (EA)
7. Portal 2 (EA)
8. FIFA 11 (EA)
9. Mortal Kombat (Warner)
10. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision)
11. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft)
12. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts)
13. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)
14. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)
15. Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar)
16. Operation Flashpoint: Red River (Codemasters)
17. MX vs ATV Alive (THQ)
18. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
19. Homefront (THQ)

    sweet!
now maybe we can convince publishers that gamers dont only buy shooters!
we need more unique story driven games like this, heavy rain and alpha protocol!

That’s what I’m saying…if they bring new experiences that’s worth it, gamers will support.

    no they wont.
    and this is proof!
one of the many posts i have read about LA Noire.
    “zzzzzz,

Sorry Ben but I just can’t watch the hole video. The game looks boring as heack. I can’t believe people compare this game to Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption & Heavy Rain. I am so glad i did not get sucked in to the hype train. Heack Grand Theft Auto & Red Dead Redemption had more action in there respected games. I’ll will be officially passing on this snore fest. I fell sorry for those who wasted sixty dollars on the hype of this snore fest. and before anyone said it I DO NOT PLAY CALL OF DUTY so you can forget on saying that.

bring on the thumbs down you sheepeople.

till we have none of these idiots we will never see the cease of shooter saturation!
publishers think that all most people play are shooters with MP!
if i had a nickle for every time i heard someone say is it a shooter, and does it have MP?
    no?
pass, i only play online shooters!
i would be a multi billionaire by now!
if you were boss of a company, and could make a car which sells extremely well all the time, and are guaranteed to make a massive profit?
or would you make the product which has half the chance to sell half as much?
thats what i cant understand about people, they bitch and whine they only get shooters then thats all they play!
obviously they have never heard of the saying vote with your dollar!
how much you want to bet that if from tomorrow no one bought a shooter, by this time next year the genre will be as dry as the survival horror genre!?
ill start the bidding at 20 imaginary cookies.
