Bungie is best known for the Halo franchise it once owned and have made extremely popular, even a global phenomenon. The studio’s latest effort, Halo: Reach is almost upon us and according to Bungie, will be the biggest Halo yet, but what happens when the curtains go down and the lights turned off?
What happens, now that the studio is independent and has decided to do other work apart from Halo? More games definitely and in an informative interview with Industry Gamers, Bungie’s community manager, Brian Jarrard said when it comes to developing games in the future, all options are open.
“The bulk of the team is still obviously working really hard to get Reach out the door, but we have had another group of people with Jason Jones at the helm who are working on pre-production and concepts for our next big thing,” Jarrard said.
When asked if that “next big thing” could be on PS3, he said:
“In terms of platform, I know these things are all still pending topics in the studio. It hasn’t gotten to the point where we’re unable to do great work and we’re moving forward. Things are definitely coming together though.
We definitely have plans in the works, and I think we’re really close to understanding of what is next and who, what, when, where, that’s all going to land. But we’re not looking at one particular piece of technology right now.”
He added: “All options are open right now, so long as we find the best possible fit for our creative vision and what this project is going to be.”
It would be a great day if the famed developers of the Halo franchise decides to develop games not only for the Xbox 360 and PC, but also for PS3, a great day for PS3 fans indeed.
