Dante’s Inferno has been covered in a cloud of controversy ever since the title was announced, with some taking offense because of its overtly religious story and overall theme.
EA knows this all to well and because of it, the publisher has decided not to release the game in the most religious region on earth, the Middle East, even if that’s not exactly what the statement it released said.
“Electronic Arts has decided not to release Dante’s Inferno in the Middle East after an evaluation process which is based on consumer tastes, preferences, platform mix and other factors,” this according to a statement from the publisher and as reported by GamesLatest.
EA has made and wise move; God of War was banned in the East because its title begins with the word “God” and Darksiders didn’t last too long either. So nice little statement you sent out there EA, but we know the truth.

Yes exactly they think that the storyline in Dante’s Inferno is too crazy and anti-religious for the millions upon millions of people in the middle east with a myriad of religious backgrounds and the backlash will be too great so they decide to forgo all the media backlash and circus show and don’t release it at all in middle east. They can say what they want but we can read between the lines pretty easily why wouldn’t EA just come out and say our story in Dante’s would not fit well with the religous views of the middle east and we don’t want to upset or incite hate or any wrongdoing and so we will not release to cause any harm. And saw Dante’s commercial during Super Bowl looked pretty good and played Demo for ps3 it’s a good hack and slash game and I will give it a try no matter what it has in its story I am a christian but have an open mind toward all subjects and games no matter the content.
