When Bayonetta, Darksiders And Dante’s Inferno Fade, In The End There Will Be Only Chaos!

The reviews for Dante’s Inferno are trickling in, Bayonetta and Darksiders have been out since January. Bayonetta got rave reviews, and the critics loved Darksiders but today we learnt that THQ was not satisfied with the game’s performance, especially after 3 years of development and a reduced price just two weeks after release. Bayonetta on the other hand is performing alright but it could do better, according to early estimates sales on PS3 and Xbox 360 are almost identical for the game. So why aren’t these Hack-n-slash titles performing up to expectations you ask? There’s only one suspect: God of War III.

Gamers it seems are waiting impatiently for Kratos to summon his best efforts against the gods in what we’re anticipating will be one of the biggest titles this year. A poll conducted by last year’s VGAs found that God of War III was indeed the most anticipated game of 2010, add that to the definite Hollywood-style advertising Sony is priming to place ahead of its release and you have a sure winner on your hand.

The franchise has been building to this moment ever since David Jaffe created the original game for PS2 and now it stands as one of the highest ranking PlayStation titles of all time. The God of War franchise is one of the few in Sony’s arsenal that actually move consoles, in fact many believe it comes second only to the Gran Turismo series.

The franchise borrows from many excellent titles before it including Devil May Cry and Onimusha but make no mistake, God of War is in a class on its own.

So enjoy Bayonetta while you can, tear through hordes of enemies in darksiders in the meantime – buy Dante’s Inferno and let righteousness rule your motives but remember one thing: When all is said and done, when you’re tired of the aforementioned titles, set your mind to March 16th in the US and hopefully March 19th in the Europe.

That’s when the end begins, and ‘war’ is your name.

In the end there will only be chaos and Kratos will stand victorius over the hack and slashers that tried to oust him. I can not wait until the ides of March roll around and to experience the epic ending of one of the most memorable storylines and epic franchises to ever grace the Playstation console. This game has created countless emulators that tried to capture what is God Of War but all have failed in some respects because you can not top Kratos and the awesome greek mythology and innovate gameplay that God Of War started. I’m going to be so sad seeing Kratos go but God of War will live on in my gaming memories forever. “If all those on Olympus would deny me my vengeance, then all of Olympus will die.”
