Well, What Do You Know: Michael Pachter Has His Own Show

by Ernice Gilbert on January 23rd, 2010, under Video Thirst, Videos

If you thought the gaming industry was interesting, hold on to your seatbelt because the loudest mouth in the industry has just been given even his own show, oh boy….

It’s called Pach-Attack and it’s after the break.

I actually liked the first episode. He talks about last year’s biggest losers and winners, pinning music games as the biggest let down and that the casual gamer abandoned the industry. Pachter said Batman: Arkham Asylum was the biggest surprise hit of 2009 and I tend to agree; that game is simply awesome.

Hardcore gamers were the winners according to the man, why? Well because they “kept buying stuff and had a lot of opportunities for great games.” Xbox Live Gold member was the big winner because of all the cool perks they got including: Last.fm, Facebook, Twitter etc.

The Pach is in, Quench your thirst will ya?

Michael “TrashCom” Pachter is full of garbage.

When he said casual games fell off big time, he is pulling it out of thin air based on facts.

7 out of the “Top 10″ games for 2009 were on Nintendo systems.

6 were on the Wii, those were:
    Wii Sports Resort w/ WM+
    New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Wii Fit Plus w/ Balance Board
    Wii Fit Plus(software only)
    Mario Kart Wii
    Wii Play

I don’t think Wii Fit Plus or Wii Sports Resort are aimed at the hardcore. Being that only 3 out of 10 games were “hardcore” games, the hardcore failed in 2009, not the casual.
