For Bungie, Halo: Reach Is “Not A Natal Title”

by Ernice Gilbert on February 1st, 2010, under Bungie, Gaming News

Speculations have been roaming the internet concerning Project Natal functionality in Bungie’s upcoming title, Halo: Reach. Well there’s no need to be in denial any longer folks, Bungie has said Reach won’t be a Natal-compatible title.

The firm has declared in its weekly update that it was making the game with only a standard controller “in mind”.

“Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind.”

So let’s all kill the debate, throw water on the fire, extra salt in the cooking pot and way too much essence in the orange juice. It’s dead.

The game’a out this fall, but if that’s just too late for you, quench your thirst here, for now.

Have we confirmed any games for the natal yet? I mean they missed an awesome chance to sell the Natal with Halo and that would have been a lethal combination that would have sold untold millions upon millions. I hope they don’t bundle Natal with a gimmicky motion game or release many gimmicky games with it because according to Microsoft Natal is supposed to phase out the controller so what’s wrong with starting at Halo the core rock that defines the xbox360 and has sold untold millions and grossed billions in sales and has been THE franchise for xbox. This would be like PS3 selling the Arc with Uncharted 3 another one-two punch deadly combo but Naughty Dog confirmed no motion controls for UC3 so that is a no go. But come on Microsoft a Halo/Natal bundle would have helped Natal penetrate the market and sell millions.
