Last night, Activsion Blizzard predicted that worldwide consoles sales will see a substantial rise, with Wii selling the most, followed by PS3 and then Xbox 360, however the greatest sellers will be handhelds, accounting for 18 million out of the 47 the publishing giant predicted.
CEO Bobby Kotick said the PS3 would sell 9 million units, Xbox 360 8 million, Wii adding the most among the 3 consoles, with 12 million, and that’s before the end of 2010.
If the predictions are correct, global install base of console hardware would be lifted from 218 million at the end of 2009, to a new total of 265 million. A rise of 22 percent.
All this was revealed in Activision Blizzard year-end earnings call.
