Gears of War: Judgement sees a release March 19th, 2013 exclusive on Xbox 360.

Mysterious internet sleuth known as Superannuation, who now writes for Kotaku, discovered the concept art for the new game on a website belonging to the Danish Film Institute.

The game’s dubbed Project 2, a “2.5D platformer ‘in colour’”, and features “the story of a boy’s struggle against evil forces trying to take over the world through questionable experiments on human bodies.”

It’s listed for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and MAC.

I had an amazing time playing the PSN version of the original Limbo, one my wife and I will never forget.

Here’s the conclusion of my review, back in July of last year:

“Limbo is one of those games that’ll drag you in, and keep you thinking about it even when you’ve turned your console off. It’ll make you feel smart and sometimes stupid. It’s cute, savvy, engaging and though testing, Limbo is fun. Above all, in the midst of this gaming drought, Limbo is the appetizer you’ll want to eat while waiting on that big meal, and the dessert enjoyed thereafter. Limbo is in many ways a must-buy downloadable, I recommend you get it as soon as possible.”

I scored it 9/10.

If I’m to be honest with you, I’ll let out in the open that Tomb Raider 2 was one of my favorite games of all time. It was, in essence, Uncharted 2 of its time.

But lately the franchise has been steeply declining, and gamers have lost all hope. But could Lara Croft, once the sexiest woman in gaming, rise again?

It would seem Square-Enix and Eidos are trying to do just that. “A Survivor is Born”.

That’s according to the December issue of Game Informer magazine, as seen in the image above, teasing a shipwreck. There’s a website for the tease too, also making known it’ll be revealed in the aforesaid issue of the mag.

This ties in nicely with the images that were leaked last year, showing Lara Croft shipwrecked on a “mysterious and remote island hidden off the shores of Japan”.

Still not convinced? Okay, here’s more information on that leak. The one that happened last year, via NeoGAF:

“When a sudden storm destroys her research vessel, a young and inexperienced Lara Croft finds herself stranded on a mysterious and remote island hidden off the shores of Japan. Despite several signs of various inhabitants the island is oddly deserted, and an uneasy feeling settles in as strange sounds emerge from the shadows. With only her determination, inner strength and resourcefulness to help her, Lara must overcome the challenges of a harsh and unforgiving journey that will take her across a vast island wilderness and deep into the claustrophobic and menacing underground tombs from the island’s past. As she struggles to prevail through brutal combat encounters and treacherous exploration, Lara will be pushed to her limited and forced to adapt to her situation in order to survive and escape from the lethal predators that stalk her every move.”

Hunt or be Hunted: Evade, outsmart, track and kill the mysterious enemies that hunt you as prey.
Survival Action: Brutally attack and defend yourself as you fight to survive the visceral one-on-one melee combat.
Strategic Weapons: Gain an advantage in combat by finding an array of different melee and ranged weapons including a variety of guns and the hunter’s ultimate weapon, the bow.
Creative Survival: React and adapt to the island by using only that which you can salvage from the environment like climbing axes, rope, and machetes that can be used to unlock new traversal and combat gameplay options.
Free Movement: Scramble up a vertical cliff wall, sprint and leap across a huge chasm, steer mid-air to land a misdirected jump. There is no one right way to traverse, survive, and explore the harsh environment of the island.
One Cohesive World: the diverse multi-region island is an open playground alive with creatures, weather, and natural events.
Origin Story: This new Tomb Raider concept reboots the franchise by exploring the origin of Lara Croft’s transformation into a hardened adventurer as you unravel the story behind the island’s mysterious past.

Intriguing stuff. Lara Croft lives! After all.
