Here’s an URL to the extended version of the demo with some gameplay in it.
obviously very early state, but i dunno the graphics did not look as good as what i was expecting!
the rain effects and the water running down the rocks looked really blurry, as did the rocks themselves.
they really need to fix up the cut scenes as well, disappointed to see the main complaint of MGS4 still has not been fixed!
the cut scenes are so overdrawn, they take forever to say anything!
they could of had the exact same effect shortening that 10 minute cut scene down to 2 minutes!
Sorry Nick, but I think I disagree with nearly 100% of what you just said.
The graphics are just plain amazing, set that video to 1080p and you’ll see all the details. I was all Oh Em Gee’ing just realizing what the FOX engine was doing. The lighting is perfect, it even reflects like crazy. It almost looks like real life to me, honestly.
And the cutscenes being long, that’s Metal Gear Solid. That’s how it is, and I’d be totally sad to ever know that they’ll change them to make them shorter just so people can play faster. Metal Gear Solid is a huge story with so many freaking details, I can not imagine in any way MGS4 to be any good if they had shortened the cut scenes, and even the codex scenes.
To have the full MGS experience, you HAVE to get through the long cut scenes, as they are all interesting and show a bit of information every time.
To me, honestly, it looks like Hideo Kojima is doing an other MGS just the way it should. He is a master at what he does, and truly makes the MGS saga perfect in so many ways.
