Sony has big plans and Adam Boyes banishes our fears.

Most new video game consoles suffer through the dread software drought. After the launch lineup — Knack, Killzone, and a bunch of multiplatform games like Assassin’s Creed IVand Battlefield 4 — there isn’t much out there. But Sony promises that there will be no drought.

Sony’s Adam Boyes says there are more games coming in the next few months. We just don’t have the dates yet.
“I think we’ve got a lot of stuff that’s gonna be coming out sort of on a more regular cadence than the competition, because we’ve got a lot of great, phenomenal indie games. I think also what you’re gonna see is a lot of updates to the free-to-play games as they come online. We’ve got Warframe; we’ve got Blacklight: Retribution; we’ve got DC Universe Online. Then we’ve got Warthunder coming. And all those games I think we’ll be continually adding and evolving the content that’s available on them. And then once some of the other indie games start coming online, once they start releasing, we’ll see a nice cadence.”

Also adds: ”Up until about December, I think there’s a lot of visibility on what’s coming up, and I think January, February, March is when you’ll start seeing all that stuff start hitting the market at a nice, regular beat. Like every few weeks there will be new stuff to be playing on PS4.”

So we see a lot of bonuses and work from Sony. For PS4 owners, hopefully that means enough games to keep everyone’s console in use for the next few months.

Lastly we are aware of some exclusive titles like Infamous: Second Son (February), The Order: 1886 and we all hope there are indeed more big productions that Sony hasn’t announced yet.

In an interview with Japanese website Diamond Online, Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, explained why the PlayStation 4 isn’t allowed to replicate the slow-but-steady rise to success the PlayStation 3 faced, and arguably, the PS Vita.Among more, House said in the interview:

Sony Computer Entertainment isn’t allowed to fail anymore with PS4, because the game business for Sony is a “Core” (business) that embodies a fusion of both hardware and software.

Do you agree with House? Do you think a PlayStation 3-type life for the PlayStation 4 would be catastrophical for Sony?

High fantasy online RPG Deep Down is set in 2094′s New York, revealed producer Yoshinori Ono. We’re as surprised as you are.

During Sony’s Japan Press Conference today, Capcom made the announcement for the Playstation 4 exclusive, alongside a new trailer.

The protagonist will be able to read the memories of monuments and artefacts, which will, in turn, enable you to relive and explore memories of the past. This is where the high fantasy premise for the game comes from, instead of its futuristic setting.

Ono also revealed the game’s map are randomly generated and monsters are randomised, and co-op with up to three other friends is possible.

Made with Capcom’s new, strong Panta Rhei engine, and with help from Sony for its Playstation 4 optimization, Deep Down is a very exciting new exclusive. Look forward to our coverage.

In anticipation of Phantasy Star Online 2′s western release, a new, offline Phantasy Star was unveiled by Sega, in the form of Phantasy Star Nova. Made by the team that created Star Ocean, Tri-Ace. Coming in Japan in 2014, exclusively to the Playstation Vita, we have no clue if it’ll ever go outside the country, but we remain positive.

It is described as featuring a “strong storyline”, emphasizing solo play, while it’s possible to play with up to four players online. With Tokyo Game Show on the horizon, more information is surely inbound.

On a blog post on the Playstation Blog, Sony confirmed that a Beyond: Two Souls demo will be coming October 1st in North America, and October 2nd in Europe.
Two scenes will be on offer in the demo:

Irreplaceable 500GB internal HDD the only way to go for now.

In May, when the Xbox One was revealed worldwide, Microsoft said you’ll be able to use the console’s USB 3.0 port for external storage, used for game installations and downloads. But, nope, this won’t be available at launch.

“The future plan is for definitely to support external storage much like we do on the Xbox 360″, said Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb during a podcast that took place at PAX.

“My understanding is that feature will not be there at launch because the team is working on some other things, but it definitely is on the list. I don’t know when it will come in though.”

On the other hand, Sony Worldwide Studios captain Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that the Playstation 4 won’t support external HDD’s

@_Tracid_ no

— Shuhei Yoshida (@yosp) August 31, 2013

The Playstation 4 comes with a 500GB HDD, like the Xbox One, key difference being it can be replaced.
