The Sonic franchise has had it’s fair share of highs and lows over the last 20 years of titles. The the extreme highs of beautiful graphics and fast paced gameplay that were seen in the first three games, to the disappointing lows of countless spinoffs and failed tentative steps into 3D plains. But while the past 20 years spent with the worlds most famous blue hedgehog have had their fair share of disappointments, it looks like we will be celebrating Sonics 20th birthday with a bang.
Sega’s just announced the next major Sonic game dubbed Sonic Generation which will be made available for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Sonic is turning 20 this year, and With this being his 20th birthday, the hedgehog is going to do what all 20 year olds do on such a momentus occasion. Yep he’s going to Vegas with the guys to get sh …………Na not really.. he is releasing another game. Besides hedgehogs have to be 21 to gamble, it’s the law!
Sega doesn’t want Sonic to die, and with good reason. It’s the publisher’s biggest cash cow. Recently, the company has been talking about ways of keeping the franchise fresh and we thought part of the strategy would be to give the mascot a break.
Then expected disappointment slammed us right in the face: there’s another Sonic coming in 2011.
What you’re about to see, (although they’re a few), will surely get your nostalgic juices flowing like a river, more so a waterfall.
