Yes indeed, now that we know Bungie’s epic will see its beta in July, there will be some long days for gamers around the world, including me, as we’ll spend untold hours playing testing what’s sure to be one of the year’s most epic adventures.

Activision, speaking in its recent earnings call, said that it’ll set aside $500 million for Destiny, a franchise company CEO Bobby Kotick said will become the publisher’s next billion dollar product.

Destiny goes on Sale in September on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. To get into the beta, you’ll have to preorder the title.

An insert will be included inside your boxed copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order. This insert will include a key code along with code redemption instructions. Once the key code is redeemed, you’ll be registered to participate in the DOOM beta once it begins. Check back at wolfenstein.com/doom for updated information.

What is the release date of Wolfenstein: The New Order?

Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available on May 20, 2014 in North America and May 23, 2014 in Europe for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

Once you’ve received your boxed copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order, simply return to wolfenstein.com/doom and follow the code redemption instructions located on the enclosed DOOM beta insert. Do I need to specify what platform I want to play the DOOM beta?

Prior to the start of the DOOM beta, you will be contacted at the email address provided during the code redemption process. What is the DOOM beta? How long will it last?

When does the DOOM beta start?

Although you’ll receive the DOOM beta key code with your copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order, the DOOM beta won’t begin until a later, yet-to-be announced date. We will contact you with news and updates surrounding the start of the DOOM beta via the email address provided during the key code redemption process.

Will there be an Open Beta for DOOM?

Timing and availability of future beta programs for DOOM is to be determined. The only current way to ensure access is through pre-ordering Wolfenstein: The New Order. We will be providing more information on additional beta tests, if any, at a later time.

Existing PlayStation 3 players will also be able to transfer their character data and subscription over to the PS4 version free of charge. However, once your account has been transferred to the PS4 version, you will no longer be able to play the PS3 game. Square asks those who want to continue playing both versions to “please also purchase the PS4 version”.

Still, if you’ve yet to pick it up, a limited PS4 Collector’s Edition will be available to purchase alongside the standard edition that includes seven special in-game items, two of which – a Fat Chocobo Mount and Wind-Up Moogle Minion – were not included in the previous PS3 and PC Collector’s Edition.

The CE also includes an artbook, Seventh Umbral Era movie content disc, soundtrack, art card set and themed security token.

The game demands 40GB of storage space on PS4.

The game comes out March 11th, 2014 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

MAC and PC players will get the game first on April 4th, 2014, followed by PS4 and Xbox One players in June, 2014.

Bungie community manager DeeJ wrote that Destiny “has always represented a new beginning for our team. It was born from brave possibilities. We dreamed of a renewed and independent Bungie. We found partners willing to bet big on some crazy new ideas with us.”

The game’s beta will commence in summer of next year, and will come first to PS4 and PS3 gamers, as previously announced by Bungie.

“The early support and enthusiasm for Destiny has been inspiring and humbling,” DeeJ concluded. “We believe this is the right decision for our game, our studio, and our passionate community. Thank you for coming along with us on this adventure. See you starside.”

The news was announced at Namco Bandai’s Tokyo Game Show event, however for those looking to play the game on PC, Namco said a release date will be announced later, hinting that the title will appear later on said platform.

According to NeoGAF user Nealand Liquor, who manages the electronics department at a “very large retailer”, a product release schedule from their head office was sent out, revealing that an unnamed Sony console would release on October 21st.

If this is true, it would mean that PS4 would launch ahead of Xbox One, which Microsoft has already confirmed will be released in November, giving Sony’s machine yet another advantage over its competitor. It would also mean the next-generation of gaming is closer than ever.

The game will be released on September 10th on PS3, and will set you back $39.99. The package includes the PS2 titles Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, and we’ll also be treated to cut-scenes from the Nintendo DS iteration, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

The compilation will also come ready with full Trophy support, along with a host of upgrades and additions, such as new enemies, weapons and abilities. If you want to pre-order, you’ll receive a limited edition art book, with featured artwork for the likes of Sora, Riku, Donald and Goofy. lastly, there are early sketches and character renders to peruse as well.

Dust 514 is a first person shooter game that players can participate in and help influence the Eve online universe via small battles. It has been in beta on the PSN for the past few months and is now finally getting its official release. CCP also confirmed Dust 514: Neocom, which is an app on the PS Vita that can be used along side the proper game. Neocom will give its users an alternative/extensive look at their game stats, loadouts, tactics and progress as they play Dust 514 proper. So Dust 514: Neocom is a companion app for Dust 514 which is a companion to Eve Online. Yep.

Thurrott says Microsoft pushed back the reveal date of the next Xbox from April 24th to May 21st to give the company enough time to better position the console against Sony’s PlayStation 4, a machine that was revealed in February, at the PlayStation Meeting in New York.

The console will launch in early November, Thurrott believes.

The next Xbox will run on Windows 8,  and will cost $499 and $299. The latter is based on a subscription model with $10 being paid monthly. Gamers who opt for this model will also need to commit to 2 years of Xbox Live Gold.

Redmond also planned on releasing an Entertainment Xbox, a machine with no vidoegame playing capabilities codename “Yuma”. That however is on hold, and might never see the light of day.

The next Xbox will also include a Blu-Ray drive.

The console must be always connected to the internet to function. Yes, this rumor claims the rumors before it were true, and that the next Xbox won’t work if you don’t have an internet connection. Thurrott claims however, that the feature isn’t as draconian as some may believe. Whatever that means.

Microsoft is also planning to release a less expensive Xbox called “Stingray”. It’s not clear why the firms’ releasing yet another Xbox 360 console, but some have speculated that it’s because the 360 has more life in it, and Microsoft wants to capitalize on the remaining momentum, hoping that thereafter those who purchase the cheaper Xbox 360 will move on to the newer, next-generation console later on.

Microsoft will reveal the Xbox on May 21st.
