While the exact credit boost wasn’t revealed in patch notes, Sony made known to Eurogamer that credits earned during early races are boosted by 110 percent, and those in later races by 170 percent.

Also, players can now earn further credit boosts by playing the game on a daily basis while connected to PSN, with up to a 200 percent credit boost offered for logging in for five consecutive days. “Be sure to login everyday to earn more credits,” Sony says.

In addition, two new Seasonal Events have been added, running between December 20th – January 17th and January 2nd – January 30th respectively. The events are said to “mark the season holidays and the new year” and will feature “special bonus credits”.

Polyphony Digital has also lowered the entry requirements for Seasonal Events, with players now only requiring a National B licence to participate.

GT6 is a PS3 exclusive launched earlier this month. It didn’t match the sales of its predecessor, falling way short, an occurrence some blame of the game releasing around PS4′s launch.

But alas, is it even possible that GT7 sees a 2015 release on PS4? Polyphony Digital boss and Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed the news to Famitsu, (courtesy Polygon), and also said that Gran Turismo 6 could be on PS4 next year. Yes, 2014.

“The PlayStation 4 game, which we’ll likely call GT7, will be done in about a year or two, I think, and I think the community aspect’s going to be vital there as well,” Yamauchi said.

As for GT6, Yamauchi said it’s 80 percent complete, despite being only three months away from its December release. However most aspects of the game are done, but, according to Yamauchi, physics engine and the steering controls are things they “fine-tune right up to the very end.” Of course, the game modes are complete.

With DreamWorks working on a Need for Speed movie, Legendary Pictures on a Hot Wheels flick, and a seventh Fast and Furious in pre-production, it seems racing movies are becoming relevant again. Will it be based on the Gran Turismo Academy concept? Will the upcoming Gran Turismo 6 feature an intricate storyline? Time will tell.

According to a post on the EU PS Blog, the demo will remain on the PlayStation Store until August 31st, however “if you’re in the GT Academy hunt you have until 11:59pm BST on 28th July 2013 to take a step towards a chance of a real life racing career.”

Said Yamauchi:

I think a PS4 version will appear naturally. We won’t keep you waiting too long, but it won’t be too soon either.

Speaking to the site, Kazunori said:

We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now.

I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates. Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario.

The second paragraph, if we are to go by Polyphony Digital’s infamous delays and setbacks tells a story of GT6 not arriving on PS4 at least a solid year after its release on PS3, so if you’re holding off to play the game in all its next-gen glory, your wait will be long.

When asked if progress from the PS3 saves would be transferred over to the PS4 version, Kaz said, “probably”.

Gran Turismo 6 hits PS3 holiday season 2013.

The celebration of 15 years of Gran Turismo event at Silverstone included a demo of GT6 featuring the famous circuit. Guests were able to play the game in the familiar circular Gran Turismo race pods before having a chance to take to the real track in cars provided by Audi, Ford, Jaguar, KTM, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota.

Further news about Gran Turismo 6 will be revealed at the forthcoming E3 and Gamescom events.
