Activision Looking To ‘New’ Infinity Ward To Create New Franchise

If you’ve been following gaming, by now you should know about the debacle that took place between Activision, and the former bosses of the studio it owns, Jason West and Vince Zampella. Since then we’ve seen a cleansing of the studio, with dozens of members leaving to join West and Zampella at Respawn Entertainment, the new studio the two men now run, with much help from EA.

Since then, Activsion has been on the hunt looking for senior development staff to replenish the hurting development team at Infinity Ward, and now the publisher is hoping that the fresh minds they’ve gathered to form the ‘new’ Infinity Ward will bring spanking new ideas to the table and create a “new franchise”.

Major Neslon Says New Games Will Be Announced At X-10

Speaking in his latest podcast, Major Nelson said some new games will be announced at Microsoft’s revived event, X-10. He also mentioned that there’d be other goodies as well but couldn’t give any specifics.
