Guerrilla Games: Not Many People Completed Killzone 2

by Ernice Gilbert on October 2nd, 2010, under Guerrilla Games, Hot, News, Sony

Of the almost 3 million people who bought Killzone 2, how many would you’ve guessed completed the single player campaign? If you said half, you’re still wrong.

Apparently, like many other games, not many Killzone 2 owners saw the game to its completion.

The Four Most Awesome Games With The Worst Endings This Generation

There’s nothing worst than playing an exciting game that ends weak. I often wonder why in the world would a developer work so hard to make its title so exciting throughout most of the game and suddenly, at the end, drop the ball.

Top Four Shooters To Play Before You Join The Army

You’re man of war. It’s in you blood. Your dad served, all your brothers and even you sister works for the defense force. Your life, you’ve noticed, must take the same route, and so you’ve made up your mind from young, preparing physically and mentality for the challenge to come.

Sony 1st Party Studios Continue To Lead The Way

When something is good, say it’s good. “If you like it say you like it”, are the lyrics to a popular song from a band named WCK. And it’s true. Why do people give flowers to the dead is beyond me; those flowers should be given to loved ones while they’re alive and can actually smell the thing. Because when you’re dead, believe me, you won’t have time to smell flowers. Is either you’re up with the savior or down with the heat. Enough of that.

Same thing with game developers. We don’t applaud them enough in my opinion, the games we enjoy took long years to develop. And never let anyone fool you into believing that games development is an easy thing, because they’re not. You want easy then go to a movie set in Hollywood, but if you want intricacy and painstaking, tedious work, welcome to the games development business.

by Ernice Gilbert on June 9th, 2010, under News, Playstation 3, Xbox 360

Fighting words, or should I say bragging words? According to a tweet from Xbox front man Aaron Greenberg, citing some NPD figures, Halo 3 has sold more copies than all of Sony’s big hitters.

Guerrilla Games latest effort, Killzone 3, which is still under development will hit store shelves in April of next year. The game, what we’ve seen thus far, is extremely promising. And to add to the hype that always surrounds Killzone titles, Sony released a trailer teaser yesterday sending the internet into an upheaval.

Killzone 3 Alpha Build vs Killzone 2 Screenshot Comparison

by Ernice Gilbert on May 28th, 2010, under Screen Shots

Killzone 2 is one of the best looking games on the PlayStation 3. In all honesty, when the game came out in February 2009, it was arguably the best looking game on PS3. Well since then things have changed drastically with the arrival of games such as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and God of War III.

But now even a bigger competitor for graphics king, Killzone 3, has arrived and Guerrilla Games has already said it’ll be ten times bigger than its predecessor, Killzone 2.

Question is, does Killzone 3 in its alpha build blow Killzone 2 off Helghan? You be the judge.

We Don’t Want To Hear “S*** Or F***” [In Killzone] Ever Again!” Says Guerrilla, Devs Take Note

by Ernice Gilbert on May 28th, 2010, under News

Can anyone remember how Killzone 2 was littered with unnecessary cussing? Sure you can, it was THE one reason I threw the game under the bus. When you have a home with kids and other family members who are already not into gaming, it becomes even worst when they’re walking around in the house having to bear the vulgarity coming from your game.

Guerrilla Games got the point and have ordered that all f*** and sh** words be deleted from its database, and said they want to hear it again “ever again”.

Guerrilla Says It “Haven’t Hit The Limit” With PS3

Killzone 2 at one point was the best looking game on PS3 and to this day stands at the top of the mountain in the graphics department. But don’t we wowed just yet; because according to the studio behind Sony’s stellar first person shooter, the best is yet to come.

PS3 Developers Compete Against Each Other To Push The Console To New Heights

In the end, there will be only chaos, but in the beginning there was only fear. Fear that God of War III wouldn’t live up to Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2′s graphical benchmark, God of War III director, Stig Asmussen said.

For Santa Monica, Killzone 2′s Quality Is The Benchmark

Stig Asmussen, God of War III rirector has said Killzone 2 inspired his team to make Kratos’ final call one of topnotch visuals, and that he hopes both games are talked about “in the same way”.

Five Blockbusters Sony Failed To Properly Advertise

by Ernice Gilbert on February 6th, 2010, under Editorials, Playstation 3, Sony

Ah PS3, the console with some of the most amazing titles ever forged. FPS, Action-Adventure, RPGs, JRPGs, Platformers, MAG, Heavy Rain, All bigs games no? Indeed, Sony has managed, over the years, to bring some of the best gaming experiences to owners of its flagship console – but there’s a problem:

They don’t sell as well as they could and should. They just don’t. Sony could have made tens of millions more if only it’d put more advertising effort in some of its biggest franchises. Mind you, the giant does that for almost all of its first party games, but these five are the most outstanding.
