We all know that EA’s reputation hasn’t been the cleanest amongst publishers, but recently the giant has been better positioned, with many Game developers leaning more towards it than Activison.
Yes indeed, Actvision recently scored a major deal with Bungie, but EA has seen a plethora of collaborations recently, from Respawn Entertainment to Insomniac Games, even Live Gamer has now joined the EA club.
Remember the two former Infinity Ward bosses, Vince Zampella and Jason West? Yeah, well those two guys have now formed their own studios, Respawn Entertainment. A deal with EA Partners has already been realized, and according to Pachter, the first title out the door will be a new space shooter.
Head of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has been at Sony all his life. Insomniac Games have been with Sony for most of the studio’s existence also. It was Yoshida who “personally was the producer in Japan for Spyro the Dragon and Rachet & Clank.” So when he heard, way back in 2008, that the developer wanted to part ways so they could reach a wider audience, it saddened him.
