Assassin’s Creed Unity Teased In AC: Brotherhood And AC3

Ubisoft writer Jeffrey Yohalem has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Unity, the next-gen only title coming this year to PS4, Xbox One and PC, has been in development for many, many years, and was teased way back in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, released in 2010.

The ending sequence of that game includes a number of mysterious symbols being projected – the two most prominent being the Phrygian Cap, a symbol of the French Revolution, and the Eye of Providence, a nod towards the North American setting of Assassin’s Creed 3.

Yohalem confirmed the deliberate choice of the two symbols today to a fan via Twitter.

Yohalem penned Brotherhood after working on Assassin’s Creed 2. He then found fame as the lead writer of Far Cry 3, and is next working on the downloadable role-player Child of Light.

Assassin’s Creed Unity was revealed late last week after being leaked by Kotaku. Check out the teaser trailer here.

Ubisoft To Release Two Assassin’s Creed Games In 2014

According to a new report on Kotaku, there will be two Assassin’s Creed games this year, with one coming to PS4 and Xbox One and set during the time of the French Revolution.

Find some screenshots and even more details over at Kotaku, but the next gen game’s called Unity, and it boasts an all-new lead as well as a retooling of the parkour system that the series is built upon.

As for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version, no details were given except the game’s codename, Comet — no word on a Wii U version, either.
