Sony has a huge winner on its hands with The Last of Us, as the game has managed to top the UK Charts for a second week running. Remember now, this is the remastered version of a year-old game we’re talking about here. Quite impressive, I’d say. Top 20 below.

UK Charts: The Last of Us Remastered Is Number One

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Remaster proves its worth on PS4.

The Last of Us Remastered for the PlayStation 4 is number 1 on the UK charts, the fifth biggest launch of 2014, and the fourth biggest launch on PS4, just behind inFamous: Second Son, the PS4 exclusive title from developer Sucker Punch.

Watch Dogs fell to second place although it experienced a 3 percent increase, while FIFA 14 settled for third — it too saw a sales increase of 12 percent.

The Lego Movie Videogame saw this week’s biggest increase of 27th percent, and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition came in fifth.

UK Charts – Watch Dog Is Top Dog Once More, Call of Duty Ghosts Returns To 3

Watch Dog managed to top the UK charts for yet another week, marking the new IP’s fifth week as king of the hill, and we suspect Ubisoft executives must be pleased.

Meanwhile FIFA 14 holds strong at 2nd, while Call of Duty: Ghosts managed to regain its top position at No.3. Wolfenstein: The New Order is at 4th and Sniper Elite 3 dropped to fifth. The top 20′s below:

Watch Dogs Tops UK Charts Again, Mario Kart 8 At #2

The UK game sales charts once more saw Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs coming out on top, while Mario Kart 8 came it at number 2, just as it did last week. Square-Enix’s Murdered: Soul Suspect comes in solid at number 3, just short of the Wii U exclusive’s second week numbers. And in fourth and fifth you have Wolfenstein: The New Order and FIFA 14 respectively. The full quencher’s below the break.

Watch Dogs Becomes Biggest New IP Launch of All Time In UK

Ubisoft’s new IP which saw its launch last week around the world, is now the UK’s biggest new IP launch of all time, besting the former record holder, L.A. Noire, by more than 57 percent. The hacking, open-world game even topped Ubisoft’s former record holder, Assassin’s Creed 3 by 17 percent.

As for software sales breakdown, the majority of sales came from the PS4 version — 54 percent, which includes bundles, and the game also helped in lifting PS4 hardware sales by 94 percent. Xbox One took 27 percent of the sales, Xbox 360 13 percent, and PS3 9 percent.

Elsewhere Mario Kart 8 came in solidly at #2, becoming the Wii U’s biggest launch of all time, and the second bestselling Mario Kart title. The game also helped propel Wii U hardware sales by a staggering 666 percent.

In third place we have last week’s number 1 Wolfenstein: New Order, FIFA 14 in 4th, and Mincraft: PS3 Edition in 5th.

UK Charts: Titanfall Retains No. 1 Spot

Titanfall was able to keep newly released title 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil from lifting the cup, relegating the sports title to second place, with Lego The Hobbit in third place, FIFA 14 in fourth and Call of Duty: Ghosts in fifth. Trials Fusion only managed 7th place, coming in one spot behind South Park: The Stick of Truth. Trials Fusion, however, saw most of its sales digitally, so physical sales shouldn’t be taken as a complete measure of the game’s financial success.

UK Charts: Titanfall Sees 220 Percent Increase As It Launches On Xbox 360

Now that Titanfall has launched on Xbox 360, the game has regained the number 1 position on the UK Charts, while seeing an increase in sales of 220 percent over last week’s numbers.

LEGO The Hobbit had to settle for second place of course, kicking FIFA 14 down a notch to third place, while retail promotions helped South Park: The Stick of Truth rise 52 percent to number 4, pushing Call of Duty: Ghosts down one position to number 5.

As for next week, I expect that FIFA 14 World Cup will dominate in the UK, sending Titanfall back down a notch or two, and although Trials Fusion will be out, I don’t expect the game to even make the top 5 as most people will purchase it digitally.
