Agony: Sony’s Seventh Generation PlayStation Story

Inside Sony Japan, where most massive company decisions are made, the mood must have been joyful when it was time to release PS3: “Guys we have no competition!” PlayStation father Ken Kutaragi must have proclaimed. “PS2 is the most successful console ever made, and with over 130 million (at the time) sold, the PS3 will have even more success!” I imagine he didn’t stop there either, with his confidence beaming, and Sony wanting to once again put out the most compelling machine they’d ever forged, all sorts of technology must have been considered, and although price would’ve definitely be an issue, Sony wasn’t afraid.

“They’ll buy it!” I could hear Hirai siding with Kutaragi, “it’s PlayStation, damn it! Look at how many PS2s were sold!” Things were getting a bit touchy though, price range had shot up from $399 to now $599 and some execs were perturbed. “Are we showing too much confidence in our userbase?” Another thought to himself, yet he failed to utter the thing, since the two big dogs in the room held all the say. So Blu-Ray was implemented, OtherOS, Cell Technology – and the final product was a massive technological accomplishment, but one that came with a great price.

So it’s with little surprise we receive news that they’re working much harder than they’ve ever worked to make Uncharted 3 a huge success, even going the extra mile to take steps normally only taken in Hollywood.

Leaked PlayStation 4 Video?

by Fernando on June 9th, 2010, under Gaming News, Playstation 3, Rumor, SCEA

Today, Sony had a conference to push their new 3D gaming campaign. Everything went down as usual, everything was expected and all seemed in please until this video appeared. It shows a guy trying out 3D for his first time when suddenly out of no where, a PS4 logo appears with the phrase ” Now Testing “. After all this years of Sony touting that PS3 will last 10 years, this really takes us by surprise. There must be a logical explanation behind all of this and we don’t think this is an actual “new” console.

Sony’s About To Kick-Off A Fresh PSP Ad-Campaign Kevin Butler-Style

by Ernice Gilbert on May 21st, 2010, under News, PSP, SCEA

The PS3 has been the recipient of much attention from Sony, with the giant launching massive ad campaigns globally to boost sales of its flagship console, and they’ve done well. Right now it’s extremely hard to find a PS3 at retail, a testament to the ads’ success.

But don’t think Sony’s forgotten its other system, the PSP to be exact, as it’ll be the next on the list to receive a massive ad campaign by SCEA. Oh, and although Kevin Butler won’t be around to give those ads his personal touch. Sony’s planning to make sure they’re done similarly to the master’s masterpieces.

They’re right, if it aint broke don’t fix it.
