Hello Everyone, I have some big news for you all. As we all know, E3 2012 will kick off with its Microsoft Press Conference in just three hours, that being said, I wanted to give Ernice a break from posting all of the stuff for E3 reguarding news and what not, so he has given me permission to hold a little trial employment period for 6 lucky members of this community. I am sure a lot of you will be watching E3 via stream on GameSpot, GameTrailers, or any other gaming site out there streaming the event. However the first 6 people who reply to this will be granted trial editor status on the website, all through E3 and until its end. As the Lead Editor for today, I expect nothing less from those who wish to be apart of our staff. That being said, there are still a few requirements that I want from those who wish to apply for this trial.

This is how it’s going to work, we require four people for Editors for the website itself, this includes posting news, videos, reviews, etc. We also need two people to man the Official GamesThirst Youtube Channel all through E3. So let us get down to the requirements.

Editor Requirements

Good Grammar Skills.
Must keep up with every bit of news pertaining to E3.
Interact with community members via comments box.
Strong desire to be apart of the GamesThirst Staff.

Youtube Channel Staff Requirements

Those who manage to prove themselves after E3 and have shown a commitment to join the staff, will be granted permanent Staff status. Good Luck to you all. Contact Ernice through here if you’re interested.

What do we all think about when we hear the words “Call of Duty”? We think of a blockbuster AAA hit developed by either Infinity Ward or Treyarch, and I have to say that the franchise has come a long way. I started playing Call of Duty 8 months shy of Modern Warfare 2 being released. I have to admit that when I FIRST heard about the game from a friend of mine, I was never interested, I would hear her play it constantly while I was on the phone with her and just never thought about buying the game myself, I had a Playstation 2, and World at War had come out not to long after I had got my Playstation 2, I was just never interested enough, that is until I went to a military school in Phoenix, Arizona, it changed the way I thought about the War and made me realize that it is actual people who fight for our rights and freedom.

The time came when I saw the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 had been released and they had been out, about probably a year, and I was in college at the time, so I used my college money to purchase both a PS3 and Xbox 360, and I bought a bunch of games, among those games were the ones I was the most excited to play and that was Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty: World at War, I hoped into my first match on Call of Duty 4 and man I sucked horribly at it, I went 2-30, but I progressively got better and better, and I noticed that during each Call of Duty release, I was actually getting a lot better. Back when I started playing Call of Duty 4, I didn’t know what the term “Noob” or “Camper” meant, and I didn’t know at the time that you were a noob if you used the ol’ Juggernaut/x3 Frag/ and M16 combo. But as I played the game more and more, I meant more and more friends, and I started to see a trend going on.

This feature will detail what I think about the Call of Duty franchise, because lets face it, there are too many people out there right now bashing Black Ops II, and they haven’t even seen it yet, it happens every year, but I write this article in hopes that some of you realize that this isn’t what being a gamer is all about, sure we are the consumer and we deserve to have things we want in the game, however, for people to constantly bash the developers with vulgar and rude comments is immature and disgusting to me.

The History of The Call of Duty Community
The History of Call of Duty, spans years, from I believe the first Call of Duty, to Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Every single game brought with it a different experience, and a different way to either play be it having Killstreaks, or even having new ways to tactically manuever around the map. The Map design in all of the Call of Duty games is done for a specific reason, and don’t get me wrong, there ARE rules to designing maps that designers set for themselves. Every single Call of Duty to date, reguardless if people think it is true or not, have brought a new way to play the game being it adding new killstreaks, or adding new weapons or perks, or even designing the maps differently. I am not one to disagree with a lot of the community that the last few Call of Duty Games have been copy and paste in a certain sense, elaborating on that statement, I believe that the developers and designers put there heart into the game, they have a deadline as to when the game needs to be finished, and everything done to the game is subject to approval or disapproval by Activision supervisors, so I for one agree with a handful of the community members, but the ALOT of the community and you know who you are, voices there opinion on the games, is not the right way to go about it, a true gamer will support his or her favorite game, in this case Call of Duty, no matter the problems, all you can do is provide feedback and hope the game changes. A lot of the feedback players give to the Call of Duty developers is highly considered but don’t make it in for a reason, they don’t just sit there and say, “Oh this guy wants this and that guy wants that” They take every idea into consideration, if it doesn’t fit, then it wont be in, move on and think of other things to give feedback on. I know I am not talking much about history, but in a sense for the last 2 years, this has been the history of Call of Duty Community, the same stuff happens every year, people complain and complain and still buy the game.

THE HISTORY OF CALL OF DUTY

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, gamers had everything they could ever want be it Guns, Attachments, Maps, Perks, Killstreaks, Etc, up to now, every Call of Duty has had these, but there is numerous differences between Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and the last few games released. When playing COD4, players would immerse themselves into chaotic street battles taking place on a Russian Ship at Sea, shooting away any enemies in there way, this is what made COD4 such a blast to play. Now like all games, COD4 had its issues, be it 3x Frag Grenades hurling through the air and killing you constantly, or getting that kill you needed to be one step closer to your next killstreak, then getting killed with that Martydom, or even occasionally getting pwned by that one guy hiding in the back of map, shooting you with his M16. Aside from it’s exhilarating multiplayer, COD4′s Campaign, brought players into the footsteps of SAS (Special Air Services) Member,  “Soap” Mctavish, known by his Squad Leader, Captain John Price as Soap. Of course as well all know, Call of Duty puts you in the shoes of not one, but two soldiers shoes, the other faction being the U.S. Marines, where you play as Sergeant Ramirez, with the Marine Recon Team. You spend a lengthy time, pursuing Ultranationalist Amhir Al’ Asad, forgive me if I have that wrong, under the orders by the Ultranationalist Leader Zachaev. I wont go into the story too much so not to spoil it for those of you who haven’t played it yet. My point is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was THE Call of Duty of its time.

Now let’s skip World at War and go further in the past to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In my opinion, World at War was an amazing game, save one extremely beast gun, the MP40.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

When Modern Warfare 2, was first released, millions of players played it hours and hours on end, I myself have over 400 hours on the game. Modern Warfare 2 brought an entirely new expansive Multiplayer to the front lines, adding in new Guns, Maps, Perks, Attachments, and introducing Customizable Killstreaks, which of course was the iceing to the cake, when gamers found out. However, many gamers did not like this idea, as they were more accustomed to the classic 3,5,7 Killsreaks (UAV, Airstrike, and Helecoptor) I for one liked this recipe myself, and was a bit skeptic about the new Killstreaks. Once the game launched in November of 2009, people could not wait to hop on and pwn them some “Noobs”. The game had its fair share of issues like all games, however these issues seem to become more and more with each Call of Duty, if you weren’t getting continuously spammed by Air Support, you were getting killed with the infamous OMA/Noobtube Combo, which angered players greatly and caused them to abandon the games for a good amount of time. However, the one true aspect of the game, I felt was the most valuable to the experience was the Campaign once again. Continueing off of Call of Duty 4′s Story, Modern Warfare 3, puts you in the shoes of a U.S. Army Ranger named Private Allan, however your place in the Rangers doesn’t last long, as you are selected to be apart of an elite Task for called Task Force 141, headed by General Shepard, joined by an old familiar name, Captain Soap Mctavish joins you as a highly experienced soldier in your fight against the next generation Ultra Nationalist Leader, Vladamir Makarov, seeking revenge against the Americans for the death of his mentor Zachaev. But, as many know, some things are not what it seems, and the fight is now towards your own nations men, General Shepard also seeks revenge against the U.S. for unrelated events occuring before COD4. All in all, this game was amazing, but unfortunately, fell due to idiotic people.

Now we take a jump into the not so distant past with Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Call of Duty: Black Ops, was for some people a welcome and refreshing break, from MW2. Black Ops brought an entirely new and innovative way to play the Multiplayer, instead of the traditional, level up and unlock things, they incorporated a currency system, which allowed players to gain X amount of COD Points from regular Multiplayer matches, or the new Wagermatches. The Wagermatches in it self, brought in an entirely new way to play Call of Duty, with modes such as Gun Game, where you went into the map and use a preset number of classes, gaining a kill with one weapon would allow you to advance to the next weapon, the first player to get a kill with every weapon, was declared the winner, which was an amazing addition I might say. One in the Chamber was another fun addition, which allowed you to run around the map with just a pistol, with one bullet, allowing you to shoot your one bullet, to gain another, or knife another player to gain a bullet. Although Wagermatches were fun, players also got to pick from new Guns, Perks, Killstreaks, Attachments, Etc. Of course as well all know well enough, every game has its own faults, and with Black Ops, the faults weren’t too bad, save the Ghost Perk, which allowed you in its basic form, be undetectable by ememy radar, or air support, which was causing anger between gamers. But as well all know, no Call of Duty fails with its Campaign. Black Ops’s Campaign put you in the shoes of CIA Operative Mason, whom is under some sort of mind control. I will refrain from spoiling the rest of the story.

Now we arrive at the present, with the current up-to-date Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the biggest entertainment launch of 2011, bringing in a gross of $775 Million the first WEEK. Modern Warfare 2 definately has its fun points, such as the new and improved Spec Ops mode with the new Survival aspect of the mode, which puts you against increasingly tough AI with each Wave you complete, this in my opinion, added a small fraction of replay value to the game, however not only did Spec Ops intrigue gamers, it was the Multiplayer we were all hoping would be new and exciting. MW3′s Multiplayer gave us new Guns, Maps, Attachments, Perks, and the addition of the new Strike Packages, which would give you access to one of 3 packages. Assasult Strike package was the first, which included deadly air strikes like the Reaper, and the AC-130. The Support Strike package allowed players to play with team work in mind, however as we all know, that not everyone in Call of Duty knows how to play as a team. The last strike package is the Specialist which afforded you every perk in the game after seven kills, which made you a deadly killing machine. However, once again Infinity Ward did not fail to WOW us with the campaign, which puts you in the shoes of two soldiers, returning from MW2 is Captain Soap Mctavish, and Captain John Price, accompanied by a trusted friend Yuri. The Story takes you to new locations and different parts of the country, you continue to chase after Makarov. I will end this here, as I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone. Further more, the games developer, Infinity Ward, has failed to address certain, bugs, and tweaks the games desperately needs, however, I believe MW3 is a fairly good game, and is worth the buy, aside from the most overpowered gun in the game, the Type 95.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

The Future of Modern Warfare….Is Black. After just being revealed on the first of this month, Call of Duty: Black Ops II has already far surpassed its prodesseors in terms of pre-order sales, Call of Duty: Black Ops II is shaping up to be the best Call of Duty to date. Being set in the 80′s during the first Cold War, Black Ops II puts you in the shoes of Call of Duty: Black Ops Hero’s Alex Mason and Rick Woods. Black Ops II has you galavanting in afghanistan on a horse, chasing after the villian of the game(YES I SAID VILLIAN). For the first time ever however, Call of Duty comes into the future, the year 2025 to be exact, where the use of Drones and Smart AI Robots. The game itself is promising to be the most amazing Call of Duty of all the rest.

The Future Of Call of Duty

The Future of Call of Duty looks to be promising, after Black Ops II release, Infinity Ward is due to release there next game, perhaps they can take a few lessons from Treyarch in terms of being more unique. However, the future for Call of Duty is not certain, we can only sit back and watch as the games take shape from year to year, and hope that each developer learns from each other. Reguardless, I will forever hold Call of Duty close to my heart, as it is my favorite franchise by far.

That wraps up this Games Thirst Feature, I hope you all enjoy and maybe take what I say to heart.

Let’s start a discussion with this, what do you guys see happening in the future of Call of Duty, and remember, be respectful, be mature and above all, have an open mind.

It appears as though Microsoft plans to cancel it’s “Inside Xbox” which offered various video services. Community Manager Major Nelson broke the news on his blog earlier today, though didn’t offer much of an explanation beyond “we must continue to invest our resources and talents wisely”. The US version of Inside Xbox also severs Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

“We will be leveraging third-party news and video content available through a variety of existing and future partners, and supplementing this content with select first-party offerings,” added Nelson.

“However, day-to-day news content and weekly programming currently offered though Inside Xbox will cease production in the United States. This includes shows like Major’s Minute, Featured Videos and Insider Moves packaged under the Inside Xbox brand.”

“Xbox Live in EMEA is currently looking at its operating model for Inside Xbox,” he wrote.

“This could potentially result in some changes, but we have no news here to share yet.

“Xbox Live in Mexico and Japan will continue to produce first-party content for its members via other media outside of the Inside Xbox brand.”

So there you have it folks, it looks like we will be seeing the end of Inside Xbox soon, a specific date has yet to be revealed and we will have more on this matter as information rises.

The humble home video game console and the traditional publisher-led model that supports it is on its last legs, so says Firefall creator and former World of Warcraft lead Mark Kern, with developer-centric free-to-play titles waiting in the wings to replace them.

Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer earlier this week, the Red 5 Studios CEO argued that the free-to-play model offers developers much more room to flex their creative muscles. According to him, this will allow developers less worry trying to create AAA Games.

publishers can hope to offer.

“The model is transitioning away from these big boxed games where you’re pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into a title, to these sorts of games that don’t count on the distributor,” he told us.

“They don’t need the distributor to succeed, so a lot more money goes into the game rather than to marketing and you get to grow organically with your players. And as there’s no barrier to entry for players you can start to compete on fun instead of marketing, which is really the area that we as developers should be in.

“We should be competing on the strength of our ideas and the fun of our gameplay, not the IP, or the license behind the title, or the size of the marketing push.”

Kern went on to cite both the death of the middle-tier game and big publisher’s relentless hire-and-fire cycle as signs that the traditional boxed model is, as he puts it, “broken”.

“Look at the symptoms. Look at the fact that there’s no middle ground anymore,” he posited.

“You’re either an indie game or you’re a massive AAA, IP-backed sequel with derivative gameplay that’s rehashed over and over again as it’s the only safe bet you can make when you’re spending hundreds of millions of dollars.

“The failure is that there’s no middle ground. All the games in the middle that could have been made but have been squeezed out and we’ve seen all these independent studios get closed down over the last few years.

“The other troubling symptom is this wave of lay-offs we have after every product launches,” he continued.

“People say ‘Oh, that’s normal, Hollywood does it all the time.’ Well, it’s not normal. It’s a symptom of your business being broken.

“In Hollywood they work on contract – it’s very different. They expect only to work from A to B. In games, these big publishers are hiring swathes of people expecting to have jobs long-term but then lay them off at the end of a project because it doesn’t quite deliver. This is unsustainable.”

“It takes billions of dollars of investment to create a console and then you have to milk it for five to seven years in order to get your money back,” he explained.

“I think the model is broken. You keep making these bigger and bigger bets and what that forces you to do is play it safer and safer. And if you play it safer and safer with your gameplay, people will get tired of the crap you’re serving. When that happens, they get bored and they will leave. And you haven’t fostered any of the middle ground innovation and new ideas that you need to tap into next.

“So something has to change. Consoles, I believe, are dead.”

According to Kern, the future lies with mobile and PC, where developers can grow their audience by keeping prices down and focusing on creating new experiences.

“Isn’t it ridiculous that you can buy these fantastic games on iPad, but then you get a publisher like Square Enix charging an astronomical price for an old game port? They just don’t get it. They don’t get that we have to lower the barrier for entry.

“You have to compete on fun as you no longer have a lock on distribution. Big publishers can no longer rely on the fact that they’re the only ones that can get distribution for their titles. We have to compete on different things now, and get back to fun and innovation.”

I suppose everyone in the game industry has there own point of view, but this guy just seems to want everything for himself in a sense.

With as little as nine hours left, until the world reveal of Call of Duty Black Ops II, I wanted to lay out everything we already know about the game, although we don’t know much about the story portion, I have researched and found every possible amount of information reguarding the games multiplayer that has been leaked. So here it is.

What we know about the current time line of the game is that it is set 15 years into the future, this being said, I’m not exactly sure if that is 15 years after the first Black Ops or just 15 years into the future. Reguardless, this game is shaping up to maybe be the first FUTURE Call of Duty a lot of us gamers have wanted to see.

What We Know

~Game Modes~

Escort – A game mode in which you escort a player across three flags to achieve victory. The enemy team killing the player will result in a win for their side. Pretty much like Team Defender in Modern Warfare 3, just the Treyarch variant of it.

Split Spawn – A game mode in which you spawn from a hellicopter, and climb down to get to the ground. The player starts with 3 lives. One player can control the chopper to let you climb down in different areas, as well as shoot from the chopper. If the chopper is destroyed, players can no longer spawn. Players compete for a central flag that takes 2x as long to capture than a regular domination flag. Either the death of all opposing players or the capturing of the flag will grant you a win. This game has 2 rounds.

Equalizer – A game mode in which players are switched to the enemy team upon death. Players will compete for a flag, which when owned, open up a power plant to allow the player to customize their class in game, get new weapons, and put on a juggernaut suit for their team only. When there are 2 players left on a team, they are granted with the power plant automatically, and pointstreaks up to a 5 point requirement can also be obtained. If either of the two players die, they will remain on their own team. The team with the most converts (kills) at the end will win. If tied, whoever is currently owning the power plant will win. Seems to be a Treyarch Variant of Infected from Modern Warfare 3.

Perk List

To clarify what elite is, it is a side-pro perk you can choose when leveling up the base perk. These elite perks ONLY work if paired with another BASE perk.

1. Spy – Appear as a friend on the map. (Disadvantage is, you’re always spotted even without a UAV, and when shooting, you turn red on the map)
b. Pro – Detect enemy spies. They will still always be spotted on the radar.
c. Elite – If Pilot is active, your airship will be marked as an ally.

2. Escape Artist – When going prone, you feign death (You cannot shoot during)
b. Pro – When approaching death, the enemies crosshairs will turn to white, and your name will dissapear.
c. Elite – if Diver is active – You realistically fall into your feign death instead of diving.

3. Audiophile – Players with silenced weapons will show on your radar if they are shooting at you or close around you.
b. Pro – Footsteps are louder
c. Elite – If bladesman is active – kniving will show up on the radar

4. Defuser – Throw all equipment but cookable grenades up to 2x farther – a hollow circle will show up around your crosshairs, and the circle will fill in 3 seconds. When the circle is full, it will throw 2x farther, when it is empty, it will throw 1x as far.
b. Pro – Be able to take semtex off of players and throw them elsewhere, and be able to pick up any enemy equipment and use it as your own.
c. Elite – if quickdraw is active – the circle will fill in 1.5 seconds.

5. Juggernaut – Regenerate health faster while moving
b. Pro – Regenerate health faster while crouched
c. Elite – If scavenger is active – you are able to drop ammo packs for your team.

6. Diver – You can dive into cover (A.K.A. Dolphin Dive) – and while diving you can still shoot, however when you land it takes awhile to regain focus.
b. Pro – You crawl 2x faster
c. Elite – With Extreme conditioning active – You can sprint while crawling to crawl faster (3x) instead of getting up.

7. Pilot – Your flying killstreak’s kills will count towards your next killstreak.
b. Pro – Your controllable flying killstreaks will last until they are shot down.
c. Elite – With blind eye active – Your uncontrollable flying killstreaks will not show on the map.

8. Technician – Any land killstreak’s kills will count towards your next killstreak.
b. Pro – Your Advnaced UAVS will disable the enemies UAV
c. Elite – If defuser is active, your sentries cannot be taken down instantly.

9. Bladesman – You have 2 knives in each hand instead of just one in one hand. (This essentially makes knives kill twice as fast.)
b. Pro – You have a chance of dodging the incoming players knife.
c. Elite – If assasin is active – kniving will be completely silent and not show on the killfeed, unless countered by audiophile elite.

10. Conciousness – While standing, you are just as accurate as when you are prone
b. Pro – Your bullets cause more flinching.
c. Elite – If marksman is active – shooting your enemy will mark him on the mini map.

11. Focus – Be able to shoot while sprinting, even at the deduction of accuracy.
b. Pro – Be able to shoot while jumping, even at the deduction of accuracy.
c. Elite – If stalker is active – when jumping, equipment does less damage to you.

12. Deep Impact – Your bullets shoot through hard surfaces.
b. Pro – Your bullets gain 50% damage with each person they go through.
c. Elite – if steady aim is active – when hip-firing, your bullets have 10% more damage with each person they go through.

Black Ops 2

On November 13th, 2012, a total eclipse will take place, and some fan search has lead to the word “eclipse” being part of the next Call of Duty’s advertising strategy. November 13th also happens to be the second week in November, the time when Call of Duty games are traditionally released. But that’s not all: Almost every single detail concerning the game’s multiplayer component has been leaked. Details inside.

3. Tactical hammer – Takes longer to get out, takes 4 swipes to kill, you need to put it away and take it back out like usual, but against riot shields and machines it takes only 1 swipe to destroy.
4. Throwing knifes – Start with 4, fast to get out, fairly accurate, but takes 2 to kill and is ranged
5. Tomahawks – Start with 2, slow to get out, fairly innacurate, and takes 1 to kill and is ranged
6. Ballistic knife – [Disallows use of equipment] – A tactical knife in one hand, while a ballistic knife is in the other. You start with 2 ballistic knives, and they kill in 1 shot.

First off I wanted to apologize to everyone for the lack of updates about the Beta Key Giveaway Winner, I have been gone for the last 4 days, because of a lot of stress I’ve been going through. To make a long story short I had to pawn my Xbox for a worthy cause, and now I may not get it back, so I myself have not had the chance much to play the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Beta because of money issues at the moment, however, this isn’t about me. I would like to proudly announce the winner of the Beta Key Givwaway! SHADOWBOXER! Who set the bar high for the contest, I will need you to contact me via e-mail at crossheartgames@gmail.com or on my skype at ReaperSlayer18 to collect your beta key man, anyone who wishes to add me may do so as well. Congrats man, you earned it. For the rest of you, check out the post I made about my big Giveaway!

Alright, so call me a big softy, but I was just reading through the comments of the giveaway that Ernice was doing for the Ghost Recon Online Beta, and I saw numerous posts by you guys saying you cannot afford to pre-order Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, or can’t even afford to get games that are already out, so this is what I am going to do, because I know how it is to not be able to afford games I want to pre-order or buy in general.

What I am going to do for you guys, is for those of you who want to pre-order an up and coming game, I will pre-order (10) of our community members any game they wish, the only catch is, I want you guys to post in the comments below, What game you want and what system, and then tell me a story about a time where you couldn’t get a game you wanted, three paragraphs, these games can be for either PS3 or Xbox 360, it doesn’t matter. The reason I am doing this is because I think it is important to give to the community, and as much as you guys have done for us, we wouldn’t be here without you, so I want to give back to you guys, and I think it is important for people that do what we do here to build a personal and friendly relationship with our community members, so there you have it, the deadline for this will be by the end of this year, December 31st 2012. I personally thank all of your community members for coming to GamesThirst to quench there thirst for gaming news and reviews.

Before I get into the main reason for this post, I want to extend my many thanks to SHADOWBOXER who set the bar VERY high for his great reason as to why he wants the Beta Code. That being said, I have a special surprise for everyone. Don’t hold me to this yet, I still need to speak to Ernice about it, but, for those of you who participate in this contest and you don’t win, I want to personally invite 10 of the contest participants to do a LIVE Ghost Recon: Future Soldier discussion with Myself, and Ernice. I will post the details of what we will be doing soon, I wanted to give everyone something to look forward too.

Now onto the main reason for this post, due to SHADOWBOXER setting the bar so high for this contest, I am going to extend it to the 29th, I want to see you all participate in this contest, I want to see someone beat SHADOWS reason. So I strongly encourage you all to compete against each other, and have fun with this.

Hello Ladies and Gentleman! Are you one of the few people who were not able to pre-order Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and get access to the closed beta? Well here is your chance to be part of the Beta! I have in my possession (1) Beta Key, for one lucky member of this websites community. The way I am going to choose whom to give this code away to is simple.

First, you need to write at least a paragraph reason why you want this beta code, maybe you want to help make the game better, by giving feedback or maybe you just want to pwn your friends at something other than Call of Duty – it doesn’t matter what the reason is, be creative, and have fun with this. I will select a winner on the 26th of this month, please post all of your paragraphs here in the comments below, good luck to you all!

Assassin’s Creed III lead writer Matt Turner says the game will feature more Desmond than any previous entry in the series.

“All I can say about Desmond’s story is you’re going to experience more Desmond than you’ve ever had before,” Turner told CVG. “We’re spending more time on the present than we have in past games.”

“It’s a big part of our story and I don’t really want to give too many details away because I want people to experience what that is,” Turner added. “But rest assured, you’re going to see a lot of Desmond. More so than in any past game.”

This is a welcome innovation for me, I really want to see more of Desmonds story, just to see how things turn out, what about you guys?

For those of you who remember the Kit Shortcuts for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I have some good news for you. The Ultimate Shortcut Bundle has officially hit today for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Origin versions of Battlefield 3. Here is a short description of what the DLC Contains:

Get all weapons and gadgets unique to all four classes, all upgrades for both air and ground vehicles, and all co-op weapons in the ultimate shortcut bundle! This massive pack immediately unlocks all 119 weapons, gadgets, and vehicle upgrades from all other available shortcut packs.

These items are normally unlocked by earning experience while playing as the different classes, using the available vehicles, and by completing the co-op campaign.

I’m sure a lot of you are asking, How much does it cost? Well, the set price for the DLC is $39.99. The price is where I see a problem, the shortcuts for the kits in BFBC2 were only 800 MSP a piece, where the “ULTIMATE” Bundle was 1600 MSP. Offering the people, the chance to be lazy and unlock everything from the get go is just a horrible move on DICE’s Part. If you are going to get this bundle, more power to you, however I will not be getting it, because to me, it takes out the fun of leveling up and EARNING the weapons, equipment, etc. What are you guy’s opinions on this? Lets start a discussion below, and please, keep it civil.

The listing for “Xboxfl.com” Domain was listed as recently as March 28th. It was rumored that ARM-based Xbox Lite would be announced at E3 in June for a future release rather than the much-talked about next-gen hardware from Microsoft. I am interested in seeing what this is for, perhaps a new console gizmo, who knows. We will have more information as it comes.

For many PlayStation Move owners, Sorcery is the game they’ve been waiting for.

Up until now, we haven’t seen to many games that make the PS Move “Relevant” However, according to what Sony Santa Monica creative director Brian Upton told IndustryGamers, Sorcery will drive home that fact. Furthermore, he says the actual gameplay – casting spells, mainly – will appeal to both hardcore and casual gamers. Said Upton:

“What we’re trying to do with this… it’s more hardcore than most motion games are. Most motion games are intended to be very, very casual. They have an almost Simon Says quality to them. We wanted something that would appeal to a more hardcore audience and would have depth and complexity.

That’s attention to detail that more serious gamers are interested in. It’s not, ‘Oh I can just button mash my way through.’ By actually mastering the system, I can feel like I’m a more powerful gamer. The fact that Move is so precise, it lets us create that very technical focused, skill-based motion control game.”

Upton goes on to say that Sorcery “does an excellent job of showing what makes Move a better and different system than other motion controls.” He also adds that he’s not sure such a game would work on either the Kinect or Wii, which is bound to incite plenty of argument, but perhaps he’s right. We’ll have to see how the game turns out; we’ve certainly been waiting for a while…it better be worth the wait!
