The Xbox One continues to be inferior to PS4 in terms of performance and visuals, the last game to magnify what’s become a big problem for Microsoft is Trials Fusion, running at a native 1080p and 60fps on PS4, while the Xbox One version only manages 800p and 60 fps. That being said, Trials Fusion publisher Ubisoft will release a patch for the Xbox One version that’ll send the resolution north of 800 — possibly to 900, and a patch for PS4 for performance enhancements.
Microsoft made a weaker console and I’m sure they never thought that the effects of doing so would be so great. The bigger question here is, did Microsoft know beforehand that Sony was forging such a powerful machine? Because by some accounts, in some instances, PS4 could be up to 100 percent more powerful than Xbox One.
Barring a miracle, this trend will continue for the rest of this generation — expected to last 6-7 years. Still, that doesn’t mean the games run bad on Xbox One, not by a long shot, it simply means that PS4 will have the best version of multiplatform games in terms of resolution, and sometimes framerate.
