The Last of Us FilmIncoming, Will Be Adaptation of Game

Many successful games are turned into movies at one point, but most times the movies have no resemblance to the games they’re supposed to represent. Not the case with The Last of Us. Yes, there’s a movie in the works for Naughty Dog’s epic, but it’ll be an adaptation of the game — with changes here and there of course, but something that fully represents what the developer accomplished on PS3.

“It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us,” The Last of Us’ creative director Neil Druckmann confirmed in an interview with IGN. “As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film… We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface.”

The Last of Us’ movie adaptation will be a collaboration between distributor Screen Gems, Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Picture and Naughty Dog, with co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra along with game director Bruce Straley joining Druckmann on creative duties.
