Bungie has made known that its upcoming persistently online title will feature a single-player campaign — but there’s a catch.
“Destiny will feature a highly crafted narrative experience, one that you can experience as a traditional “campaign.” However, even if you’re playing the game single-player, you will need an online connection. “To play Destiny, you need to be connected,” Bungie’s Pete Parsons told ShackNews in an interview.
So while you’ll be able to go it solo and experience the game’s “single-player” campaign, you’ll still need an internet connection to play.
It’s a massive experiment — one that holds a lot of promise. Destiny is actually my most anticipated title for next year, and one only has to look at Bungie’s past project to know that, at least, they’ll deliver a great experience.
