Nintendo won’t adopt DLC practice for Wii U platformer.
Nintendo’s Yoshiaki Koizumi, director of Super Mario 3D World, stated that the game won’t receive any DLC, while speaking to Gamekult.
Nintendo previously released DLC for Super Mario Bros. U, the “Luigi U” pack, which also went into retail in a special green case to celebrate the year of the plumber’s brother.
Regarding the GamePad and asynchronous gameplay for the title, Koizuma said “there will be levels where the GamePad will be particularly useful and in which you can find that kind of approach. There will also be a special mini-game with Toad, but I can’t talk about it right now.”DLC doesn’t seem to be a major factor in Nintendo’s games, and Mario is no exception. Koizumi said that an open world Mario would be possible if lots of players wanted it.
Super Mario 3D World is coming out for the Wii U November 22 in the US and November 29 in Europe and Australia, and looks to be the system seller Nintendo needs so much for the struggling console, which saw sales rise with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
