“We only need one console.”
Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, the man behind the upcoming The Evil Within, said that the two upcoming next-gen consoles are almost identical technical-side.
In the latest issue of Edge magazine, Mikami thinks “we only need one console”.
“There’s no real difference between them. We only need one console. Why do I have to make two versions of a game? And when Xbox One was first announced it had lower specs than PS4, but now they’re almost identical. So either will do.”
The Evil Within is coming from Mikami, and will be his last directorial job. Current and next-gen consoles, plus PC, will get the game when it releases at an undefined date.
What have you to say? Many developers in the past, albeit anonymous, have claimed the PS4 is way more potent, while others claim there is a big gap but just not huge.
For me? I think we need the consoles as they are; competition is healthy for the consumer.
